Welcome Screen?

When my computer loads up and comes to the blue screen that says Welcome..I notice it hangs there alot longer than it normally has in the past...This started happening within the past week...What could cause it to that? Is it ok or is sumthing wrong? How do I fix it, if it needs fixing?

    Hi!!..

Have you installed any anti-virus software recently such as Norton anti virus or zone alarm? If so then it is normal..as they take up a lot of memory.

Otherwise this may help in fixing your problem..Try the below mentioned steps:-

1.Press The "Start Button" in the task bar.

    2.Go to "Run".

    3.Type "msconfig".

    Here a window will pop-up.

    4."Go to Startup" tab

    5.Click on "Disable All" button.

System will ask you to restart windows.

You got to restart your PC.

    Hope this will help.

The Welcome screen is hanging around while the rest of your "Startup" programs load. Maybe you have added some program that has extended the startup procedure. You can remove some programs from the startup procedure but may get into trouble by removing something that is vital. Mine is the same and I just put up with it. I have added two anti-spyware programs and changed anti-virus, so I blame them, but I want them, therefore put up with the delay.

there might be several things that could slow down your start up process.

    1. too little RAM

    2. too many start up processes(you can go to start>run then type in msconfig >startup tab deselect the startup items you don't want (careful, you don't want to remove the vital ones))

    3. virus (run a virus scan)
