Sounds like the doctor just had a hard time finding the heart beat this early. It actually is pretty common. They will call you to do another ultrasound in the next couple weeks and that should give them a better idea of the heartbeat. Try to stay calm and relax. Stress is tough on a little growing baby. Everything I have seen says that the normal range is 120-160 beats per minute.

very good. Both of my daughers heart rates ran about 140. You should talk to your healthcare provider and they can tell you all of the benchmarks when you are being examined. In our case a nurse usually took all of the measurements and stats and were very helpful to let us know what was going on... just ask them questions.

yes absolutely
