Florida=
Landscape= Palm trees....Beaches....It is beautiful but in some areas it is still run down.
Activities= Dinner shows....Beaches....Walt Disney World....Sea World....Universal Studios....Horse back riding....Air Boating....Shopping Galore....and soooo many more things.
I must say Florida is a very fun place to vacation at but it no longer feels like home to me....the crime is getting kind of bad there.....Three out of Four of my sisters have been mugged.....now thats pretty bad odds......Feels a bit like cuba would now.....I can't comment on North Florida but Central and the Miami areas I can......I would not recommend Miami.
Alaska =
I lived there for 3 years in Fairbanks,Alaska.....It's not like some people may think......It's not dark 6 months and light 6 months......You basically end up losing about 7 minutes of light from June till about December......then you gain 7 minutes of light each day......The summers are absolutely beautiful there......like no other place I've seen......The winters are cold.....But if you live there it's strange how you do get climatized and can actually in time walk around outside with a sweater in 0 degrees......If you have the money I would highly recommend taking a cruise down in Juneau and I believe it takes you to Haines......there you will be able to see besides the culture......the Bald Eagles migrate there each year to mate around May......So May would be the best month because the icebergs are starting to melt and what can I say except it is just breathtaking......Okay, I'll wrap this up......Bring lots of film......and enjoy the land of the midnight sun.

I can tell you about three states:
Florida: warm, warm, warm! With some hurricanes now & then. Northern part of the state much more "Southern" than South Florida, in which nobody has a Southern accent. You'll find that North/South Florida are like two different states.
Alabama: not as bad as you've heard, there's a coastal area with nice beaches. And they have paved roads!! Racism is out in the open, on t-shirts, bumper stickers, etc.. Temps range from 100+ (F) in the summer, to 10 degrees in the winter.
Washington: Temperatures are very moderate, ranging from 30 degrees (F) to 85-90. (At least in the wester part of the state). Eastern part of the state is more desert-like. People-wise, the further west you go the more liberal, more or less. Racism is certainly here, but hidden from view.
My favorite so far is Washington!!

Wisconsin. Hot and humid summers with cold winters and a lot of snow. A lot of us are huge Packer fans. We are well known for all the beer we drink (not so sure if that's a good thing). The famous cheesheads. The area I'm in is rural. There are some bigger towns, but a lot of countryside and farms. It just depends what part of the state you're in. Madison is a much different area than I am in. I've never even been over by Green Bay before. You can be in a big city or go up to a cabin or lake in the middle of no where and enjoy piece and quiet. It just depends which area of the state you go to.

a million. Mets (i'm a crimson Sox guy) 2. Rays (The Marlins stadium is often so empty this is somewhat depressing to video reveal them on television) 3. Indians (circulate Tribe!) 4. Dodgers (Russell Martin is the guy) 5. Rangers 6. White Sox 7. Cardinals 8. Orioles (they even have some cool gamers like Nick Markakis) 9. Phillies (2d fashionable team) EDIT-I misread the question. That record in totally my faves. As for the wonderful, exchange the Dodgers to the Angels, and the ChiSox to the Cubs.

I live in Massachusetts and I have also lived in Alabama and North Carolina. I've been to California and Florida in addition to other states.
Massachusetts: Cold for 8 months of the year, Summer is one month (July), snow skiing, snowboarding, hiking, biking, beaches, mountains, sight seeing in cities like Boston and Salem, zoos (nothing great), aquarium, museums, lots of colleges, diverse group of people (vary from city to city to town to town), highly educated folks and the opposite of the highly educated people, snobs and very down to earth people, etc. The cost of living is very high here even in the lousiest places, it's expensive. People can't drive here. There are lots of accidents and aggressive drivers. It's a fast paced life. Boston has great Italian food in the North End.
North Carolina: Beautiful state, I lived in Charlotte for 4 years. It's a beautiful and growing city with nice people. There are a lot of transplants so it's becoming diverse and interesting. There is a lot to do. (beaches, mountains, etc.) It's a quiet place and nice place to vacation. It's a great place to raise a family. It's pretty warm here for 10 months of the year. Average winter temps are in the 40s.
Alabama: I went to college at the University of Alabama. It is a beautiful state. It can be very hot in the summers I understand. I never spent a summer there. I enjoyed my time there and loved the people I met. It seems like a great place to live. But I would stick to the major cities like Birmingham or Tuscaloosa. I actually like Tuscaloosa more than Birmingham. It seems safer. As I remember, the population isn't that diverse but I found the people to be warm and friendly. I'm from the north and know that we northerners are looked at with fondness. But I am pretty laid back and don't think I'm a typical northerner. I'm fast moving and acting. But I'm not overly judgmental and I don't try to tell people what to do. I didn't back then.
California: Beautiful and lots to do. It's expensive. It's fast. It's gorgeous weather year round compared to the rest of the country. I've never lived here. I've visited a few times and loved it each time. I'm always anxious to return. My husband and I are moving to San Diego in the future.

My state, Minnesota is beautiful in all seasons. It is very scenic, yet can be very cosmopolitan also. The people are friendly and there is lots to do. The only bad part is the winter temps get soooo cold sometimes. Believe it or not, that does not keep Minnesotans inside.
