He competed with the Hapsburgs for dominance:?

1) He competed with the Hapsburgs for dominance:

2) He was the only leader who united warring factions separated over the issue of religion. Of the same choices who was it?

A. Philip II

B. Louis XIV

C. Frederick I

D. Peter the Great

Which one is it? I put B. Louis XIV on both of them and I was wrong.

1) Philip II was a Hapsburg (kind of), and I REALLY don't think that it was Peter the Great. So was it really Frederick I? That doesn't make sense to me.

2) I don't really understand, could it really be Frederick I as well?

Explain please! Thanks!

I'm pretty sure it's Frederick because the Hohenzollern and Habsburgs are always duking it out.

It wouldn't have be Philip Louis the XIV was too busy with England and Peter the Great has all of Russia. It was within the Holy Roman Empire that the heads were butting.

Spain was joined with the Netherlands and Austria in the HABSBURG EMPIRE of Charles V (1519–58). The Spanish Habsburgs, especially during the reign of Philip II (1556–98), were a major power on the European continent.

    2.) Frederick I

He united Austria, Britain, Nederlands etc...
