Safest place to live in London?
I am looking to move into London for a teaching job. I'd like to find a place that is "safe." I'll be 30 so I'd like to find an area that has a good, upbeat culture but still in a decent price range.
I will be coming from the U.S. so any information/websites you can forward to me would be very beneficial. Thank you for answering!

Like any large city anywhere in the world there are no places that are 100% safe. Generally speaking, the more expensive an area is the safer it will be, but as London is so expensive it may be a case of compromising between safety and price.
It's probably worth taking into account where your teaching job is located. London is very big and travelling from one side to the other could take over an hour and a half. It might be a good idea to start off comparing the nearby areas and go from there.
You can use www.upmystreet.com to look at the different areas and compare things such as crime rates and prices. Personally, I've always lived in the London borough of Wandsworth and find it pretty fun (there are lots of 'young professionals' living here), relatively cheap and fairly safe.
