  • Safest place to live in London?

I am looking to move into London for a teaching job. I'd like to find a place that is "safe." I'll be 30 so I'd like to find an area that has a good, upbeat culture but still in a decent price range.

I will be coming from the U.S. so any information/websites you can forward to me would be very beneficial. Thank you for answering!

  • San Francisco airport transfer?

What is my cheapest option from the airport to let's say Fisherman's Wharf? Once I get there, I can get to my hotel. I'd prefer public transit if possible.

  • Hotels near Camden Yards?

I am heading to Camden Yards in August. Can anyone tell me what hotels are in that vicinity?

If there really aren't too many, is public transportation decent so we can get there without a vehicle?

    Any insight will be helpful.

  • Phone numbers for Equifax and Experian?

I have been trying to contact Equifax through 800-685-1111 and Experian through 888-397-3742.

I cannot get past the recorded messages. There are wrong addresses on my credit reports and I need it fixed ASAP.

Does anyone a different phone number I can reach a real person?

  • 4 energetic teachers going to NYC overnight...need help?

We are 4 teachers (ages 25, 28, 55, 60). I'd like for us to go some place sort of low key that has some good live music. It would have to be in a decent neighborhood near the subway since the "oldest" is a nervous nilley.

any suggestions you can give with a decent place would be fantastic!

  • Summer Reading Suggestions for Low Readers?

I am looking for some updated titles for 5th-8th grade students in Special Education. The books should be current but at a lower reading level and preferably on CD/cassette.

Any types of suggestions would be very helpful!

  • Need some half time games for a student/faculty basketball game?

I've signed myself up to help with our school's student/faculty basketball game this Friday night. Now I need to think of some entertainment, activities, whatever to do during the 15 minute halftime. I have no money to do this so I need to be creative. Any ideas would help!

  • How do I get dual citizenship with Portugal?

My grandmother is from Portugal and migrated to the U.S. in the 40s. Now I'm interested in getting dual citizenship before she "leaves us". What do I need to do? If it helps, I am living in Boston so if necessary, New York City is accessible.

I just bought my first pair (yeah). Do I need to waterproof them or can I wear them and they'll be fine in the rain/puddles?

  • Calling all educators!?

I am in a middle school building (grades 5-7). This past Friday we had a student set a bathroom trash can on fire. Whether she did it on purpose or accidentally, we aren't too sure. What we do know is that she was smoking and bragged about doing it.

What my question is...is the punishment (being suspended for a week) a viable one? Should she have been expelled? What do you think about this one....

  • Fun activites for my business?

Ok so I'm not really in a business but in education. I'm in charge of the "Fun Club" in my building but I'm in search of ideas to get some very "seasoned" teachers out and have fun.

What can you suggest? For a little more specifics, we are located about 45 minutes west of Boston.

  • Which do you think is better for my goal to buy a home?

My credit rating is not that great. However I do have some money stashed away for a down payment. Should I pay off all my bills with the money or pay off the bills over a period of time keeping the money in my savings for the down payment later on?

  • I am looking for an online quiz for Louis Sachar's "Small Steps". Anyone know of any sites?

I'm looking for a quick quiz that I can do online with my kids next week. I'd like to save paper by using the internet rather than type up something.

    Any resources would be wonderful!

  • I know this is broad, but what could I do in Toronto?

I plan on visiting Toronto for a weekend but I don't have a clue as to what to do, what to see, or even where to stay. Of course I can search the internet but I'd like insight from people who live there or have visited.

I've already looked into a few hotels but can you tell me where I should/should not stay (meaning safety of neighborhoods).

  • How dumb is this?

In a game between the New York Yankees and Boston Red Sox, Derek Jeter hit a foul ball into the stands and accidentally hit a woman in the forehead. Later at the hospital, the owner of the Red Sox, John Henry, visited the woman and gave her a baseball!

I don't know about you but wouldn't the last thing you would want to see is a baseball?

  • Who is overreacting in this situation?

I recently mailed home a letter to my upcoming students. I added in there that "I am your Special Education Teacher" this year. It was a very informal letter with just some information saying that I created a website/homepage for them...etc....

I got an e-mail from a parent saying that it was harsh that it had "special education teacher" in there. Her son ripped it up. He feels already bad being special ed. and kids can make him feel bad...and so on...

I mailed it home specifically so I wouldn't have to do it in the beginning of the school year, which is a directive from our school. My students are in sixth grade (ages 11-13) and kids can be harsh. Am I overreacting in this case or is it just an overprotective parent voicing her opinion?

  • What are some activities I should try with my 6th graders the first few days of school?

I have a small group of learning disabilites students (3-6 of them) for Math, Language Arts, and Reading. What are some good ideas I should do to start the school year off? I only want to do this for the first 3 days since we start the Tuesday before Labor Day.

I do have a directive that I have to give several assessments (two reading tests and a math test). I don't want to overload them too much...at least not yet.
