You believe a democrat will actually put together Universal Health Care within the next 4 years?

Before fixing one problem you need to address another problem. The Debt and lack of available money. I support Universal Health Care but the current financial structure would not be able to support it. I do not find this a realistic goal and what the country needs now is cut backs not expansion.

I think you've got it wrong. For a country that currently spends about 16 percent of GDP on health care, and is projected to spend as much as 20 percent in coming decade, one of the goals of Universal Health Care is to CONTROL COSTS.

Yes, yes, we were sold on "managed care" and its promise to control costs, but that didn't work out so well, now did it?

That being said, no I don't think anyone could be able to make a fundamental change to our health care system -- the health care industry will never allow it.

ABSOULTELY adverse to! Socialized drugs is THE WORST component lets do. that is been shown over and once more suitable that the personal sector does issues more suitable, more suitable effectively, more less costly and produces a larger high quality product than the goverment. competition drives organizations to do more suitable for the buyer. First taxes ought to should be raised (particularly) to help each and every of the bureaucratic BS which will bypass alongside with wide-spread well-being Care--and not in any respect to substantiate high quality. Why do this kind of massive volume of Canadians come to the U. S. for well-being care? because that is more suitable right here. No waiting months to be sure your accepted care physician or maybe longer for a referral to a professional. authorities regulation does not make certain high quality--in reality--agencies are literally not attentive to the buyer yet to the rigidity of lobbyists. So the authorities will look after the tremendous guy and high quality criteria are lost.

Yeah, more promises that can't possibly be made, but hey they can always blame it on the Republicans when it doesn't go through.

I'm an independent, with leanings to the right, but am for some kind of health care re-form.

Until the left and the right, work together on this it will never happen.

They could find the money for health care by raising taxes on imports, which would also keep more Americans employed, which would mean more people paying taxes, and less that would need health care ins.

And to the people who say the quality of our medical system would falter, I say this. When someone is sick, and isn't covered with insurance, they'll take whatever they can get.

They have been working on this idea for many years not just 4.

There is plenty of money available yes through some taxation but mostly through the trillions of dollars in profit the insurance and drug companies are making off of the publics backs and from the billions we keep pouring into the military.

Employers will also have to share in some of the burden too. There are plenty of federal spending cuts that can be made too.

I don't see UHC being welcomed by Americans. Plans probably WILL be presented, but I don't see them passing.

Funding IS a problem with everything. I actually don't support UHC, but I think care needs to be accessible AND affordable.

There IS a sensible plan that does NOT force patients on it with fear of fines; does NOT impose the costs on employers; does NOT raise our taxes; and DOES resolve another abuse of the taxpayer in its funding, provides for preventative care (moral and economical), and would prevent bankruptcies (more than half are caused by medical bills and most of those folks have insurance). UHC is the worst thing that could happen to our health care. The reason that we are the best in the world is that we have a free market system. If we let the government control it then the level of care would drop to that of other countries. If you want to know how good their systems are working just look at how many of the people that can afford to come here do. They know that their systems don't give them the best so they come here to get it. DON'T CHANGE IT

I think that universal health care is the right way to go however I agree that we must first deal with the financial situation this country is in, thanks to Bush. Will it get done, I believe it will. Will it get done in four years, I dont' see how.

No, it won't happen, and I agree with your reasons. We need to curtail spending. If universal health care was added to the budget, our already huge debt would soar. I'm afraid that the current proponents don't care.

The congress has already been paid off by the insurance companies...not likely to happen without grassroots support.
