    Well, I've never shared this with anyone, but I made up PHOCAMP to help me to remember the seven wonders of the ancient world (as written by second century bc author, Antipater of Sidon).

    P = Pyramids of Egypt (Giza)

    H = Hanging Gardens of Babylon

    O = Status of Zeus at Olympus

    C = Colossus of Rhodes

    A = Temple of Artemis at Ephesus

    M = Mausoleum of Maussollos at Halicarnassus

    P = Pharros of Alexandria

    BTW, tighty right, loosy lefty refers to tightening and loosening of bolts, screws, etc.

    Here, let me look for a link to the seven wonders...

    Here you go...

    Oh, another one I like (I didn't make this one up, I see it all the time in Crosswords, though) is HOMES for remembering the Great Lakes of North America (I know you are a Kiwi, but it means a lot to us here in America).

    H = Huron

    O = Ontario

    M = Michigan

    E = Erie

    S = Superior

    For the Scandanavian (European) countries: 'FINDS' (Finland, Iceland, Norway, Denmark, Sweden). The random house dictionary says 'sometimes finland and iceland', just fyi.
