  • I need to defend myself against a crazy person...?

I am anticipating finding myself in a rather unpredictable situation very soon...a volatile 18yr old girl has taken it upon herself to hate me rather intensely, and a mutual friend of ours is getting married in about 2mths.

I am determined to attend the wedding - but feel it would be nothing less than essential to know how to defend myself against a potential attacker, in case she decides to come too.

She likes making a scene, so will likely go at me screaming and scratching and punching wildly...

What the hell am I supposed to do???

  • How do I rewire my neural pathways from negative to positive?

My sexual experience is limited, and I've had a large number of negative sexual experiences, spanning the better part of my active sexuality, and it has come to the point where I can't have sex with my partner because the moment he suggests anything sexual (whether physically or verbally) I feel revulsed and a strong negativity surrounding the whole idea.

I really want to be able to have positive, loving and satisfying sex with him!

But sex just feels so...ugly and painful to me.

"get over it/change your attitude" is easy to say, but doing it is just not so simple.

Constructive ideas and suggestions, please - anyone!! This is a real problem for me. And him!!! :P

  • obscure movie set in Ireland with beautiful music - but whats it called???

I can only remember sketchy little snatches of the movie...Please help!

There's a woman who leaves Ireland (for New York...?) pre-movie, she has a very gruff adult brother, and possibly a suitor who follows her back to ireland. There is an oddly placed african american kid, perhaps the main woman's son - maybe she dies? I don't know.

The kid is set to work on the gruff uncle's farm, he has a thing for a young girl but the uncle wants them kept apart...there's bad blood between the uncle and someone who used to chase the main woman, can't remember why....

AAARRGHH this is really tormenting me! All I honestly want is the soundtrack: what's the movie called??

  • Need someone not afraid to answer my question?

my 4wk old baby has picked up a cryptosporidium (intestinal parasitic infection) from my 2yr old, and I'm worried - the 2yr old has vomiting and diarrhoea from it, and the local health authority rep told me the infection can last up to a month...!! My newborn can't take that.

    BUT

Garlic is fantastic for killing parasites - this is ok for the 2yr old, but how can I get garlic into my 4wk old? Orally? In breastmilk? homeopathically? wrapped onto his feet (absorption thru skin)?

    What is the best way?

I want people who have a clue what they're talking about to answer here, and are not afraid to make health suggestions (PC and err-on-the-side-of-caution be blowed!!)

  • Does your partner's gaming interfere with your marriage/relationship?

My husband is a serial gamer (WoW, ghost recon, counterstrike, Battlefield 1942, Unreal Tournament, Land of the Dead, etc.etc.etc.etc.) and doesn't seem to understand my dislike of the amount of time he spends gaming, and thinking about gaming, and going out to his gamer friend's places to game, instead of being home with his family, and helping out around the house - you know, generally being a part of the family and shouldering his responsibilities as a husband and father.

He has (literally) no interests outside of gaming, and kind of BMWs (his car). He can't be bothered pursuing any other activities or interests with me, and throws tantrums when I ask him to help me out in any way. He comes home from work, and 4 nights out of 7 goes out to his friends place to play games, before dinner time, and doesn't come home til around midnight - 1am. When I protest his leaving to go gaming, he sulks, stays, and then complains all evening that he's bored - despite any attempts on my part.HELP!

  • Fears of labour/birth of second child?

I am 30wks+4days pregnant with my 2nd son (other one is 23mths old) and I am really nervous about the labour/birth.

With #1 I was as confident as they come - had attended a few births before, so wasn't unrealistic in my expectations, but knew I could do it, and wasn't worried or doubtful. It didn't go as planned, but not drastically - however I did end up with postnatal depression, and I now have plain depression.

Since #1's birth alot of huge life events have gone down, and I have lost my confidence, to the point where I realised the other night that if I was to go into labour right then (pretend it was full term) I would have a huge panic attack and I would not cope from the absolute onset.

I am frustrated, because I see myself as someone who ALWAYS copes - but I feel like a limp rag when I think about trying to birth this child.

What were your subsequent labours like in comparison with your first? Did any of you have similar fears? How did you deal with them? What can I do?

  • What do normal people do???

I have a dilemma: after we put the baby to bed in the evenings, my husband and I hit a wall: what do we do now?

Computers is antisocial, and we can't share that pursuit, we don't have a TV (and I'd like it to stay that way, its not really that sociable to watch tv together anyway), so what do we do to pass our evenings together?

We spend them bored and unhappy cause we can't think of evening activities to share together.

    Please help!

  • Hemorrhoids help...Please!!!?

I have a borderline internal/external hemorrhoid, and it is driving me crazy.

It's because I'm 30wks pregnant, and haven't been able to be very active throughout my pregnancy. My diet is pretty good (not constipated or diarrhoea, regular) and I am getting more exercise - but it isn't helping my immediate situation.

It seems to be too large to expect to go away on its own, or to reshape back to normal, but it keeps getting irritated and expanding, every time I think it is improving.

I don't want to take it to the doc, but I am worrying that nipping it off with a rubber band might be the only option for one as big and stubborn as this.

I've had it 2 weeks and it is driving me spare.

    Help what do I do!

  • Strange dream....?

(Background: my husband was away last night at a LAN party with his mates - computer geek thing. It's his birthday today, and I wanted to be able to spend it with him, but LANs go all weekend. Our marriage has had it rough, he had an affair, I've ended up with depression, there've been a few separations, but somehow we're still together...)

I dreamt last night that Ant (hubby) and I were on another 'off', and I decided to get married - to my solo mum girl cousin, Becky. (I'm straight). The wedding was kind of rushed, so I ended up going up the aisle in my underwear. I was pregnant in the dream (as I am now). The whole time all I was thinking about was Ant, never once my new spouse. I wanted him and loved him and wanted to know how he was feeling - I wanted everyone else to go away so I could talk to him alone. I avoided signing the register, because I didn't actually want to marry Becky - I wanted to be with Ant. And all he did was sit there and watch me marry someone else.

  • What is your cure/remedies for thrush/candida?

The bane of women the world around, there is nothing that can drive you as crazy as a yeast infection down south.

Have any of you beautifully savvy girls out there found any cures?

Here's mine: make up a warm salt water solution, and sit in it. Stay there, just marinading, for a few minutes. When you hop out, don't dry the sore/itchy areas, let the salt water stay there. Provides INSTANT relief from the most insane itching you can imagine, and it lasts about half the day before the symptoms start to return - and even then it should make it manageable for the whole day.
