All 50 states have some form of early voting. It may not be called "absentee voting" though. There are usually restrictions placed on absentee ballots. By definition those ballots are mailed off to voters then the voter mails it back. Too many opprotunities for something to go wrong or the vote to be tampered with for you to want to rely heavily on absentee ballots. So states usually say only people who are actually going to be away from their precinct on election day can use mail ballots. Absentee ballots are not seen as a convenience, more of a nescessary evil. If possible, it's best to rely on early voting in person at physical locations.

I participate in early voting. Ten days before Election Day I can go to one of many locations at malls, supermarkets and public buildings. One month before the election they mail me a sample ballot book with all of the pros and cons about ballot questions (propositions in California). I read it all.

no I stand in line like everyone else. The pro's and con's must be read carefully. In Florida they like to attach clauses . An amendment to help the poor will have attached a sales tax break for 1). cars over 100,000 ...2). yachts over 3 million $

    3) corporate jets fuel surcharges. Too be poor in Florida is not really bad...but to be rich in Florida is even better. Oh, I'm among the poorer, but after watching the weather on the Weather Channnel, I feel warmer and richer, eventhough I drive a piece of junk

Yes, I vote this way. We do not have a polling place where I live and so this is the only way to vote.

And yes, I read the information guide.

I do not vote absentee. I do the early voting. I do read the pros and cons. I do that before I go to vote.

I am reasonably well read on issues and candidates, have voted absentee on occasion, but normally go to the polling center.

I am an election judge so I am there already and vote at the polls.

I already know all the laws for voting.

But I do read all that stuff, whether I understand it or not is another story.
