Why would a company like Ford Motors go after a club of supporters ......?

Ford has a bunch of nuts running loose. They want all the Mustang clubs who have been supporting and advancing the Mustang since day one to quit using "Mustang" in their club name and pay a penalty to Ford for all the years they have used. Likewise for the parts houses specializing in Mustang parts and magazines with "Mustang" in their name. Talk about biting the hand that feeds you, this is the same Ford Motor Co. which was going to ditch the Mustang a few years back and replace it with a bland FWD until all the Mustang clubs and magazines started screaming. There's just no accounting for the brainlessness of some corporate types.

OMG you see all you ford lovers out there???? I have a GREAT idea- lets all sue FORD for mental anguish! What a way for a motor company to thank all you Ford owners out there! What next- you ford owners can't say "Ford " because you will be violating a CopyWright???? WTF FORD??? This is why I HATE Ford Motor Company!!! They continue to build cars that will continue in keeping their dealer service bays busy, they are still a racists motor car company ( read Henry Ford and the Mass Production of Hate-this publication is still available at your local bookstore ), they STILL are the world record holder for the most factory and NTSB issued recalls, and now as an even lower act of cowardness, they not only build cars, ship them out as quickly as possible with serious defects and all right to their showrooms for the quickest fastest sales possible with total disregard for their customer's safety, they go as far as SUING the local Ford car club and their own supporters!!!! I mean WTF FORD??? If you haven't read the story attached to the link this person asking this question has included- please do yourself a favor and click on it. I guess it is true, all FORD cares about is money, money, money. Screw all their consumers, your all just profit in their eyes, and FORD will make their profit no matter how, and in any way possible- even if it is through worshiping one of Ford's own vehicles. Shame on you FORD!

Years ago, Volkswagen went after anyone who used the word BUG in their business name and won that fight. Lexus went after anyone also, cause it is infringement on a copywrighted name.

However, does this mean any mention of the word Mustang in books, national geographic, discovery channel programs mean thats an infringement too? I would say that the person or persons, heirs, etc who originally called a horse a mustang should sue Ford then.

Maybe the Tacoma Indians should sue Toyota for use of their name too. I will remove all nameplates off of my vehicle now for fear of being sued by someone else, lol.
