has anyone used a neti pot?

I'm just curious about using a neti pot. I want to try it, but what does it feel like? Does it feel like water going up your nose (like when you're swimming)?

Yes i have and as a yoga therapist i have taught many

to use neti pot. The trick is you should breathe thru your

mouth and tilt your neck to the side and then insert neti

pot nozzle gently. Also see that water is warm and it

should contain salt in the ratio of 1 teaspoonful to a litre

of water. Plus after you finish with both the nostril learn to

bend forwards and gently snort out the water which has

percolated into your sinus area. This is important otherwise

it can aggravate your sinus problem. Good luck to you.

I have explained everything so go ahead and try.

    Cheers! :o)

The other response cracked me up...not cause it's wrong or bad. Just cause...I disagree. Both my husband and I would describe it as water up the nose like you are swimming. It's not bad...just odd for a few seconds. NETI POTS RULE! :)

It is like having water up your nose, but a little different because you sort of know whats going to happen and you breath through your mouth.. plus the water sort of runs through.. Hard to explain, but it really helps alot with sinus problems (esp. from iritants like with hay fever)

no it doesnt, you just have to bend your head a little foward and a little to the side, and breath through your mouth, it really helps to clear your sinuses
