How soon after a d&c should i start my period.?
I had a d&c on 12/11/07 at 7 weeks pregnant....Was having my levels checked and they have been back down to normal a week or so ago. I'm curious as to when i should expect my period. Ive been having unprotected sex so i know that they possiblity of not having it and getting pregnant is there...Do you usually ovulate before you start your period?? Do your levels ahve to be back down to 0 and you will ovulate right away. Last week i thought i was going to start cause i had a couple days of cramping, maybe that was ovulation??
I'm not being careless. There is a reason for it...Just so anyone that reads this wants to say something stupid like the first girl. I actually want to get pregnant!!!

You must ovulate in order to get your period. Not everyone can feel ovulation. Unfortunatly after a pregnancy, it takes a little patience in regards to knowing when you will get your period back.
Usually, your doctor will have told you not to have sex at all for several weeks after a D&C or delivery in order for your uterus/cervix/vagina all to heal and gain normality so that if you DO get pregnant your body is healthy enough to receive it and carry it to term.
Once your levels are normal, you will begin your cycle and expect to ovulate. It is adviseable for you to wait to conceive again (having unprotected sex again suggests that is what you are trying to do) until after you get your period once, to be on the safe side. If you arent trying to get prego then just know that it may take a few months to get a regular cycle again.

I also had a d/c procedure done 2 days after there was no fetal heartbeat on 11/16/07. Im sorry to hear about your loss. I have been told by my doctor that a women who miscarries ovulates 14 days afterwards. But, it is recommended to wait until one normal period to TTC because your body is trying to go back to normal. It is hard to say when you'll get your period because all women and their cycles are different. I got my first period after miscarriage on Dec.19th if that info helps any.
