Can anyone suggest a camera setting for a fashion show photography?
the local fashion show will be held inside the mall and probably there would be enough lighting. I don't think they would be crazy enough to turn off the mall lights since it will be held in the general mall area. So any suggests what camera settings to use? I am currently using a Sony DSC-H9. Can I use the Portrait mode or manually set my camera? Aperture or Shutter mode instead? What settings are usually used in this type of conditions or events (ISO, aperture, shutter speed, white balance, metering). The last time I photographed a local fashion show, it was a disaster (used the same camera). Photos were a bit blurry and color were dull. Any suggestions? Comments? Thanks in advance!
Yes, I know how to set my camera. As I have said I previously used the manual mode (iso 200, shutter 1/250, f/4.5) BUT it turn out bad. Not sure what other settings I missed. Do I need to set the white balance and metering mode?
I posted the same question in a Flickr group but no one bothered to answer. Thanks so much guys!

Fast !
There will be movement and if you want nice sharp shots they need to be taken on a wide aperture at fast speed. If you are looking for blurr then use a smaller aperture and a slower speed,
Its indoor and there will be light on the models so I suggest 2-400 ISO for quality shots and a minimum of 1/250 for speed. You'll have to work out the aperture according to your available light. Work in manual if you can. Use a tripod.

You will need to check the settings yourself. There is no way to tell you how to set your camera up in advance. We don't know how much light there will be or how far away from the stage you will be. You will need to check the exposure in your camera using the light meter to determine if there is enough light to take the shots. If there isn't enough light, you'll need to use the flash. The 18-55mm is not a fast lens, so you may have difficulty with that. If you are far away from the action, the inbuilt flash will likely not be powerful enough, so you'll need a better flash unit.

I would use the camera in aperture priority, opend wide up and with the highest ISO you have that still looks good. If your shutter speed is below 1/125th,then I'd consider looking at using a tripod.

I used ISO 400 with shutter at !/250. Forget the tripod they will never let you use it in the mall. Dull colors is from the odd mixe of lightings, auto white balance should help. Adjust further in Photoshop if needed.

the best advice i can give is based on when i sneaked camera in at gigs no flash allowed, i used an slr canon eos 10 35mm film, i had a 75-mm lens film used was fuji 1600,
can be done digitaly on yours ? but i used to observe show lighting you will in time predict where light hits , best meter for shadows, refocus to area of subject and shoot, there are a lot of anomalies here though need more info . 1600 iso f4 1/125 may get better results ? need to practice

Do you know how to set those manual settings?
You are going to want to use automatic settings and flash. Also get very close to the walkway. If you know the lighting conditions, I could give you more info, but since its still up in the air, it sounds best to keep it auto.
