Black ant that induces sickness?
My Spanish teacher today told us about a time she was in some Spanish-speaking country, and was on a temple. She saw an ant and was pointing to it when a guide advised her not to touch it.
Anyways, my question is, What kind of ant is it? I'm not sure what country. All i know is that it has large pinchers, when it pinches or bites you, it hurts extremely bad for days, and makes you very sick.
Any answers would be a tremendous help!

Probably the Tocandira ant. Their bite is very poisonous and they are found in South America. They're actually used for "coming of age" ceremonies in some tribes, to see if the young men can be strong while being bitten by the ants.
