Is it normal for hands to shake with hunger?

This happens to me quite frequently.. I'll feel weak and my hands will be very shaky. I eat a good bit - for example, porridge for breakfast this morning, cheese sandwiches for lunch, but by 6 in the evening, I was shaking like a leaf. It went away almost instantly when I got home and had some cake. I was tested for diabetes a few years ago when a dr. thought she saw too much sugar in a urine sample, and it all came back negative. Is it a normal thing to shake like that?

My daughter is the same. If she doesn't have regular meals she starts to shake and if she still doesn't eat she faints.

Her blood sugar is obviously dropping too low. She too was tested for glucose intolerance but her tests came back normal too.

It seems to be a bit of a family trait because my som and I . whillw not shaking and fainting, get increasingly desperate if we miss meals then have mood swings and disorder consistent with low blood sugar.

We all find the answer is to eat regular low GI meals to sustain us through. If we are going to travel or be late gor a meal we all take a snack or banana with us to keep us going.

I read somewhere that low blood sugar can sometimes be a precursor to diabetes, but this is not necessarily so.

I would say, yes, if your blood sugar level from not eating for several hours is low, your hands (and the rest of you) could get shaky. But as I always say on medical questions on Yahoo....seeing your doctor is the best answer, since we are not doctors. If this happens frequently to you, especially...see the doc.

Be authentic. Crazy goals like losing two dress sizes in two weeks will almost always end throughout tears, lost motivation and regarding green little comfort eating. You can only ever seem like a thinner you – so set standards you know you can achieve.

    Hypoglycemia may be the culprit.

I would contact your doctor and arrange a test.
