I respect Obama, even voted for him... Now I have a question for Obama supporters...?
Of course since the campaign has started there has been a lot of negative propaganda on all the candidates. But, I keep seeing examples of Obama not participating in pledges to the flag and not singing along with the national anthem. The video that was posted on here earlier is just one example. But, there's a couple that show him actually turning his back on the flag during the anthem. I'm extremely uncomfortable with the idea of the American president NOT pledging allegience to our flag. Like I said, I respect the man, I even voted for him in 04, I do like him as a senator. He's intelligent, articulate, and has some great ideas, but it bother's me very much to watch his reactions to the American tradition of pledging allegience. Does this bother you at all? Would having a president who isn't paying allegience to our country and flag be wise?

I personally don't care about the pledge, I think it's a waste of time and dated, and I'm not an Obama supporter, but you have to realise that so much of what you hear is garbage, I just found out today that Obama is Christian, I heard it on the news, until this point I had believed he was Muslim from the negative ads I'd heard.
He actually came out today and said he is Christian, and he used the Bible to take his oath of office.
It's strange how these negative ads can make someone believe a lie, basically because I hadn't heard anyone say otherwise.
If you tried, I bet you could find video of Clinton, Bush, McCain, anyone, looking disinterested, or talking, or whatever, during the pledge, so before you believe the hype, take a good look at all the evidence.

That video is the only example - it jsut gets dragged out over and over again and misrepresented all the time.
Obama has never refused to recite the pledge. On the one occassion that is put forward Obama is standing for the national anthem and facing the flag. How is that not respecting the flag. In that video he is in fact the only candidate singing along.
People really need to stop and think about this. If someone was anti American - wouldn't he present himself as the most patriotic candidate ever?
This is a non story and you really should focus your time and effort on something that does matter. To give it any credibility at all just makes you look as silly and misguided as those putting it out in the first place.

One video footage taken by a major news station clearly shows 3 candidates on stage with the flag flying majestically and National Anthem playing - Senator Clinton and Governor Richardson were patriotic and smart enough to put their right hand over their heart in accordance to the Flag Code, Obama didn't for whatever reason and had his back to the flag.
The next president will be the commander-in-chief of the military and must command their respect, most people want a president who is a least respectful of America's symbols of patriotism.

never saw that video, but remember, the flag, the pledge of allegience, they are propaganda... hold on hear me out, I know you want to give me a negative rating, but give me a chance here. To do what he is doing right now, he has to love the country. He is risking himself that some white supremacist nut job would hurt him and his family. he is working 24/7 because he wants to make a difference. he loves the country, now I ask you. Does it really make a difference that he does not sing a song or looks in the general direction of a piece of cloth? Remember Bush sings and salutes

Netta, It's disturbing to think one would do that..if it is the truth that those things really happened.
Don't let that disturb you to much..
Here are a few things that might concern you.if you care to read over them..
Ask the Question..How will you change the below listed Items and see what Candidate Obama has to say..
1. How do you propose to stop the National Debt Spiral.
2. How do you propose to eliminate terrorism from raising it head again inside the US.
3. How do you propose to rebuild the falling apart infrastructure in the US.
4. How do you propose to slow down the destruction of our natural resources.
5. How do you propose to eliminate theft by government employees.
Those are but a few of the major ISSUES that have NEVER been answered or presented by Candidate Obama.
The simple reason is that he has NO plans for them.
A trainee lawyer that spent most of his time working for government funded social service programs..except for a short time as an elected offical..has no IDEA of how to introduce policies that will bring change about in the crucial ISSUES...and that is Candidate Obama.
Thus far all of the ISSUES he stands for will be an increase in govt spending and more Social Service Program..Similar to the ones he worked for..

This was addressed to him in the last debate.
Obama answered the preposterous things broadcast
over the Internet.
All the silly things you have wondered
about.
The moderator even stated that all of these things
were false and how did he feel and what did he think about
it.
They all are lying. This goes on when others don't like or
the other candidates people want their boss to win.

Obama's Minister Honored Farrakhan (below).
Oprah is showing her true colors by supporting him as well.
This statement comes from an article about Obama's pastor, his church and one of his buddies, Louis Farrakhan .
"Wright has long been a supporter of Farrakhan, whom he helped organize the Million Man March in Washington in 1995. Farrakhan has repeatedly targeted Jews, whites, America, and homosexuals with hate-filled statements.
He has called whites “blue-eyed devils” and the “anti-Christ.” He has described Jews as “bloodsuckers” who control the government, the media and some black organizations."
"...negative propaganda..." Who's kidding whom?
