was this test taken too early?
i am due to have my period on the 25th of january. i suspect that i could be pregnant. my cycle is 30 days to 31 days. i had a quantative blood test performed on the 14th of jan. it was negative. was this too early? i am having another done on the 21st , is this a better time to have it done. i am thinking that on the 21st i should know 100% , right?
oh , i told the doctor i thought that it was too early , he didnt hear me. i just asked him if i were pregnant , how do i wean off the meds that i am taking.? he said lets test now , i said too early , he said never too early , tests are sensative! whatever!

Yes, I think the test was taken way too early. Pregnancy usually cannot be detected on a blood test until at least 7-8 days after ovulation. If you took your test on the 14th, that was probably around the time you were ovulating. I think the next blood test will definitely be more accurate.

If you are due for another period on the 25th of January, it was definitely too early for testing. Before I knew I was pregnant with my daughter (now 2 1/2 years), I did the urine test at my ob's office on the 28th day of my cycle. It was negative. I did a HPT a week later and it was positive. Try again on the 25th and again a week later if it's still negative. Good luck!

See it all depends on what kind of test he did on you. If it was just a standered test. Then yes it was way way way to early...
I had that happen with my first. I went to the hospital. And I was not even late on my period. Well he did a test there. And it was negative.
But 2 weeks later with a urine test. It was postive.
