Can you put a jar candle in the microwave to melt the wax?

Try soaking the jar in hot water, that's always worked for me. The wax will become soft enough that you will be able to eventually peel it out.

I'm not too sure about that. What kind of warmer do you have? The kind with the little tea light at the bottom? Those don't warm very well. The best product that I've found on the market right now that doesn't require a wick, or a flame with a warmer is Scentsy. Their warmers are soooo worth it. Plug and go. They wipe clean too. No scraping the wax out to put a different scent in. The scents far exceed Yankee or any other large scent company. Hope this helps and good luck to you

I recommend to place the candle jar into a double boiler, filled with water to almost cover the jar. Boil water first, turn the heat a bit lower, then place jar into it and let it simmer until the wax melts.

It takes a little longer but it is save.

Shattering the glass is exactly what I wanted to avoid. I have several (15+) of those citronella candles in the liter size little pails and another dozen in canning type jars - none over 25% remaining - want to combine them to save a ton of storage - but want to do it safely. No, the microwave will cause the glass to shatter.

Trust me on this- i've done it! And it makes a real mess inside the microwave that never comes out!
