MotoGP 2008...........your thoughts please?

Right people, I want good in depth answers with reasons as to why you think a certain team will be successful this year in MotoGP, or even just your opinion on who to watch. Best answer gets 10 points!!

Update:

Team or rider? The question was on MOTO GP and your thoughts and I enjoyed those who answered. It's a shame that there are no points for 2nd or 3rd, Thank you all.

    Good question !!

If valentino gets the engine for the yamaha he will be sniffing around at every race, and some decent hoops would not go a miss.No doubt he,ll be racing to win !

However the young gun Casey stoner has got the package .Ducati have taken there first moto gp championship and theres no way they wanna share there spaghetti bolognese, even if casey doesnt like parmesan ?

Jorge lorenzo will be sucking quite had on those chuppa chups in his first season, and we all know he,s an amazing talent. If VALE lets him be a team mate then he will rock !!

Well as we all know Kawasaki are there just to make up the numbers and it wouldnt matter who rode the bike ,the package is out of balance.Westie will win on it in the rain tho, so he,ll be hoping for a whole year of rain and Hopkins will be hoping for a miracle.

Dani Pedrosa will be real pissed that Stoner won the silver cup last season and Honda will be doin everything and more to make sure our little paella eating, pocket rocket, has the correct recipe this year !

Chris Vermuelen is one very determined rider and as we saw last year it was his technical skills in the set up departement that made Hopkins go quicker ,and now of course in the off season he has been looking at beautiful Aussie sheilas at the Gold Coast so you can imagine his blood will be boiling.

Also he has the wonderful experiences of the fast but shifty Loris in the camp to get him to stop eating good ol aussie tucker and wean him onto the same stuff that worked for Casey Stoner. The Italians like lotsa breast feeding,so whats good for casey, is good enuf for chris.

Dunno what Nikki Haydens gonna do other than end up as a developement rider or they,ll toss him back to the A.M.A Superbikes and get that honda back on the podium in that class, as Mat Mladin has had a free run for so long on the Suzuki.

All the other riders to my way of thinking will be making up the numbers and hoping they get to park their motohome next to valentinos in the pits as whatever he doesnt wanna ride at least they can compete for !

    Thankyou and

Hi gsf1200. I think this season you need to watch the whole field. I don't think the camera men are going to get any rest at all. the in team competition as well as the normal rivalry is worthy of a Hollywood script. I think blink and your going to Miss it. Record the whole season it may take some time to see it all.

but on a last note Dovi as a solo rider. he is the one I'm watching.

I remember the hard time Haga had with the only Aprillia.

only one rider collecting data, and a rookie. but i still think he is going to give Lorenzo a run for his money.

  • I'm putting my neck on the line here, but I think Hopper and kawasaki will be the one's to watch.Looking at last season by the end kawasaki had the second quickest bike by the end of the season and seemed to be progressing more than the others(Ninja magic?),Suzuki had their bad moments(unless it pisses down all season)Yamaha will have internal problems with their two teams ego's,chatter and Rossi will want to develop his own tyres.Honda, well it's all their fault any way for introducing these new 'safety measures' so they deserve whatever fate comes their way.I believe they have rechipped Pedrobot so,their options are open as long as their test rider(hayden)plays ball and gives them feedback to program him.Ducati, ahh all smug with their Playstation generation bike will still be a difficult target, but not impossible to hit.I'm deluding myself,I know, but we all dream.

rossi on bridgestones, this better work. hayden is a work horse and i hope he can manage a better show. hopefully the ducati gp8 isn't as dominating as it was last season, maybe this will give other riders a chance. i wish there was a way to determine who won last year's championship: the bike or casey's talent.

    Team or rider?

The best answer always get 10 points!

    Fiat Yamaha, Rossi split team.

Best rider alive today ( Vale ), best crew chief ( Jerry Burgess ) , on the best rubber ( maybe ).

Thats about it for me, I really dont think I need to go into anymore depth.

Totally agree with Wiggy above, but think that Dovi and De Anglis will be the ones to watch more than Lorenzo. I think he will struggle on the Yam!
