Is it necessary to wax the new cars with alum. alloys? I was told the new clear coat protects-just clean it.?

    Clear coat is just basically clear paint, it needs attention just as your non clear paint, get a good clear coat wax and polish and just as the 1st. answerer said get a good beer and have some fun.

    I think you are talking Alum Wheels?

    You cars finish is covered with a clear coat. Just washing will do the job if you don't get any grime, sap, oil or any kind if road junk on it...but for us who drive our ride we need to get that crud off....washing will not work well....get some clear coat safe wax....wash your car....find a place out of the sun and wax it.....use a damp rag and turn the rag over from time to time. Use a clean towel to take the wax off....turn the towel to..Waxing cars....its kinda a guy thing....fun with a cold beer on a Saturday morning......ya know?
