Sounds like a bad seal(s). Seems that the seal(s) shrinks when cold and allows the fluid to bypass with out doing the work you request. Then when the temp warms up the seal(s) expand enough to work but with the "pulling" your describing. One or more may also have a chip or crack in it. This transmission needs either repaired or overhauled, depending on mileage. Get this done soon for it won't last long.

First thing to check is the AT fluid level. Your Impala might still be under the power train warranty. Check with Chevrolet. Mine is a 2003 Impala and is still covered. Also visit www.mygmlink.com or call 1-800-222-1020

  • A transmission service may be in order. The transmission filter may be clogged not allowing the "cold" & more viscous transmission fluid to be circulated. As the temp rises, the fluid becomes thinner & only then will it be able to pass through the filter.

Have the transmission rebuilt, there is no inexpensive fix for this. I dont think there is a dipstick to check the fluid, there is a plug underneath on the transmission that you remove and add fluid until it comes out.

Check fluid level of transmission. If it needs any, use a funnel to fill it because it has to go into the dipstick hole. As for the pulling, I'm not sure. Might be out of alignment or something.

Sounds like the trans fluid is low and as for the pull your car needs an alignment.

    check your fluid level.

and also when was the last time your transmission filter was replaced? it could be plugged up causing the fluid to not flow properly.

check the ani freeze. Also if you can park it in ur gruage if you have one. If its cold. below 38 degrees you should wait 40 sec. before driving to let the oil run throw it.
