EZ TAG question?

One of my friend who visited me from Dallas and he was on the West Sam Houston Toll Road and didn't get over in time to get to the approriate pay toll lane and went through the EZ tag only lane...and afterwards he moved in to a new address. How can he pay the ticket ? and how much does he need to pay ? and if he doesnt get ticket can he ignore it ? Is there any site to find if my friend has any tickets ?

You are allowed one violation without penalty. If he only went through the one toll lane he will be fine. If it's more than that they will, eventually, refer it to a lawyer to collect. They will find you based on the information in the auto registration records. You can call the info line and based on your plate numbers, they can give you info.

Does he have a Texas Tag on his car? If so, then he's fine. If he has the Dallas tolltag as well, that'll work here. His account would be billed.
It will catch up with him. It may take a year, but it will catch up. For some odd reason HCTRA (Harris County Toll Road Authority) did not link my new EZ Tag with the license plates on my new car for a month. I got a notice in the mail saying that I owed them over six hundred dollars (sixty trips through EZ Tag lanes). I called them to ask about this and they were helpful. They backcharged my account the actual amount I owed (more like $60).

Hmmm i dont know. I did the same thing with the West Park tollway by accident about 3years ago and never received a ticket even though i was staying in the same place. I only did it once. But i do know somebody that did it a lot and he got tickets sent to his place for all the times that he did go through the EZ tag lane.

Ignoring it wont make the ticket go away
The camera's have captured his licence plate and they will eventually track him down and they can and WILL put a hold on the registration of the vehicle
A friend of mine had to pay and then was able to do his registration and annual inspection
So tell your friend to call or go by one of the toll offices and find out what the fee is and pay

Maybe your friend should call an ez tag store and ask them, I think the firt time its a warning, but he should call them and ask them directly. I ran over 2 and got a $40 ticket 2 years ago. Just call them and ask them how can you solve that.
