Not quite sure what is happening...Can anyone offer any explanation and/or solution?
I have been running for the past 5 years 4-5 times a week, 4-5 miles a day, and every now and again I will hit a physical wall where in which I can only run a mile or two for a period of time that could measure a couple or days to a couple of weeks. During these times I have to often stop after the firest 20 minutes into my workout and walk for a while and then try and finish my run. Or there are time where in which my body and legs are so tired that I have to cross training on the elliptical machine. I hydrate, rest, add protein to my diet, but to no immediate physical response. I am currently dealing with one of these periods and the last time I had a really good run was last Thursday. My last three outing including today was awful. Any suggestions as to what might be going on and how I can break through this malaise.
Thanks Michelled612 and lestermount for your advice and encouraging words. Had a strong run this morning and feeling strong again. God speed and keep the road under you feet.

OMG! I have been that way for a week. It can be pretty demotivating! When it gets like that I get on the stairstepper and/or the elliptical. Keep going and work through it. Your body will get to the point where it has no choice but to burn fat. It is just fighting it right now and you have to keep going. It will get better! We just have to stay motivated and determined! Get an ipod or mp3 player and get some songs that are upbeat and motivating. This has worked for me. Good Luck~

You need to determine if this is mental or physical.
If it is a medical problem you should talk to a doctor and if it is mental fatigue then you have to break through it by concentrating on your training with goals and rewards.
Get a physical now since you are having a spell to make sure there is no underlying physical problem.
