Usually when a singer is singing in their head voice, the sound seems to ring more in their head verses their chest.

Next time you sing scales. Start from your lower register (which will feel like your chest voice). Continue to go up into your voice starts to change slightly, as if some kind of transition is happening. Once you hear that transition through past your middle register, that is your head voice. This occurs in most females between E and F sharp. When you feel that "lightness" or lack of heaviness as you did in your chest voice, you have found your head voice. And there you have found it. And by the way, your head voice is your regular voice. All of your voice is normal, as long as you can sing them well without hurting yourself. :)

Your head voice is the higher part of your register that you sing in whenever you reach higher notes. To me, it differs for everyone and every voice type, it feel lighter than when I am singing lower in my chest voice. The breath also moves and is places higher in the "mask" of your face, and very frontal in your nose. It feels like the notes are floating and to the singer, it may sound even a little airy. That is your head voice.

Your head voice is like a false setto. If you dont know what that is, its the highest you can go. Once you can't co any higher in your face voice, you go into head voice or false setto. If you watch singing shows with judges, or you have seen an Eistedfodd report, they might say something about having a good false setto or needing to work on it. Good Luck!

It is your highest range, the sound that you drive up through the top of your head. Different from your mid-range/speaking voice, and different from your low notes.
