Term limits for Senate/House?

What do you think of: A proposed Constitutional Amedment that would limit the terms of Congress to 12 years (two terms in the Senate or 6 terms in the House)

    I agree 100 percent.

And although technically they do have term limits, they should not be able to run again after their two or 6 terms are up.

No Congressperson should be allowed to be in Congress as long as some of these people have been in office.

Being in office that long simply encourages corruption.

I support this 100%. Instead of Government by the people, of the people, we now have a ruling class who stay in Congress forever, and now are going into second generations (Patrick Kennedy never worked a day in his life). We really need to end this with term limits.

Oh for heavens' sake YES. Byrd is senile and can't even run his committee-his aides are doing it for him, but he still gets paid and gets control through that. Ted Kennedy hasn't done much in years and there are countless more. When the position was designed, it was supposed to be where a working person would devote a couple of years to making legislation and then they would go home. That meant they would have a vested interest in serving the public well. Instead we have congressmen helping themselves to another serving of our hard earned money via projects like The Big Dig.

Never happen. That would require congress to put term limits on itself. The members of congress are never going to put limits on themselves. You may as well ask them to do away with the congressional pension.

WONDERFUL and it will never happen!

I'm so sick of these career politicians! They should be out of office and live under the horrible laws they have shoved down our throats!

i have said that for years, but if that happened it would cause the economy to really tank.why you ask ,corporations would have to spend billions greasing up the new politicians on the block. sad but true.
