zther is right on. THANK YOU! Ron Wilson is the problem. Its easy to point the finger at a player like Marleau, but thats just looking at it from a micro point of view. The big picture is, Ron Wilson is just not effective in putting lines together and sticking with them. People look at the stat sheet and see what they see. People need to watch the games to see Marleau is playing aggressive and doing things that doesn't come up on the stat sheet. Marleau will kick it in gear in the 2nd half..........if Wilson doesn't mess it up. Enough with the trade Marleau excuses already. We'll be worse off without him.
Edit-- Ok, so more reason to wonder why Marleau is struggling. Tomas Plihal gets put on as Marleau's LW??
Then, just the 1st period alone, Wilson has already given Thornton 2 more different line combinations1?!?!? Are you kidding me? Its just the 1st period. Why are we mixing it up already?

Marleau isn't the problem... Wilson is... He a decent coach but for whatever the reason, he can't get the massive potential out of these Sharks teams. They have too many good leaders and too much talent to collapse the way they have the past few playoffs, and lets not forget the terrible beginning of the 2005/06 season before they made that big trade to land Joe Thornton (the 2003/04 San Jose team was the best Sharks team ever).
So long as Wilson is at the helm, San Jose will come up short.

I'm a huge Sharks fan. While Marleau is playing like garbage, I'm torn as to whether or not we should get rid of him. He is the face of the Sharks and represents the loyalty the franchise has to the players. If you look at it from a business perspective, he would definitely be expendable. I would keep him.
While some people point fingers at Ron Wilson, I blame the players themselves. Players like Marleau and Cheechoo have only themselves to blame for poor performance.
Thornton was not snubbed.

As much as marleau is sucking, we still need him. However, I think they need to take the C away from him and give it to Joe. Wilson is a problem most definately. He keeps on mixing up lines and I have defended and defended the guy but hes just shooting himself in the foot. He needs to go....sooner than later, before the sharks lose 5 in a row.
So, what do we do when we DO lose 5 in a row??? It took the sharks 10 losses to get Joe, so whats it going to take now?? Im not sure, im not management, but I do know that something needs to change
Damn, look at all these sharks fans....

um, i think Wilson is the one to blame, like [z]ther said, because he is always juggling the lines...he should just stick with one line combo for at least one month...if he likes it, good, if not, then let him do whatever he wans...i would give Patty one more chance...if not, he's outta there, as much as it hurts to write that.
