My Terrier Loves Berries and raisins...?
should I let her have them - I mean don't dogs have an instinct for their needs? Wild berries are all over my neighborhood and she loves raisins...

Raisins are probably not a good idea since kidney failure has been documented in some dogs eating 2 or more ounces of grapes. Chocolate also has been shown to cause some dogs to get very ill (rapid heart beat) or die.
Despite what many people believe, dogs are omnivorous and will eat most anything; whether it is good for them or not. Most dogs will want to eat the same things that their keepers eat.
There are many wild berries in my neighborhood too. My dog, a Heinz 57 mutt, loves the blackberry season and eats the berries right off the canes and doesn't seem to mind the occasional tear of her lips from the thorns. She also eats the apples and cherries that fall to the ground. Most fruits are safe for dogs to eat, but in moderation only. Feeding a whole apple to a 30# dog is about the same as an adult eating 3 whole apples. But I do SHARE my bananas and oranges and carrot sticks w/ her. Some fruit pits are dangerous to dogs, such as peach pits, and they are dangerous to humans as well. Fresh fruits, berries and vegges can be part of a healthy diet for dogs, just the same as it is for you. But be sensible in how much fruits and berries you allow her to have.

I would check with the veterinarian first. Maybe your dog needs a check up but then again maybe just likes raisins. My cousin has a Shelty called Shandy and he loves chocolate. After dinner every evening Shandy sits patiently and waits for his square of thin dark chocolate. Shandy is a very healthy little dog (he's about 7 years old) says the vet.
He never looks for any food from the table and waits by the living room sofa for his treat.

Don't feed her raisins! They can cause kidney failure when ingested in large amounts! I wouldn't risk it. :(
