Is youth wasted on the young?

The older I get, the more true this seems to be (for me). If you can think of exceptions, let's hear them!

Yes. I'm 58 and I had to live to be this age to appreciate how I've aged like wine. Life is better now that I understand it more. I would not want to go back to being a teenager again for anything, but if I could turn back time I wouldn't mind being 33 again and knowing then what I know now. Life would indeed be different.

Sex is also a lot better!!! No rush about things, just pure enjoyment.

If the old were given youth, what would they do? Waste it again? The only advantage youth has is physical. If it were given back to me I'd just go around chasing skirts again. Intellect does not require youthfulness.

well you could say (as some stand up comedians have) that the whole system is backwards - why should you have the leisure of retirement when you're already old, maybe too old to enjoy it properly?

anyway people do occasionally accomplish a lot in their youth, e.g., mozart.

Wisdom sure is. I ignored many good "words from the wise" when I was young.

I don't think it's wasted... many people just don't realize what it was worth until after it's gone.

yes its true. When we are young we dnt know many things we blindly do what we want to do.But wen we are getin older we realise wat life is and how to live. There is an old sayin "At 60's everyone become a philosopher and speaks the truth".
