Brushed aluminum back, with black acrylic numbers mounted on surface, starting point of course play with ideas.
Or go opposite of the "tech" look and do a kids clock, bright crayon colors, no straight lines for the hands on the clock, scribble coloring background graphics. Just start laying things out and find a look that comes together.
Good luck!

How about a "FAT CAT" clock ? You will need two paper plates -- one for the body and the other for the head. Staple them together, one on top of the other. The top piece would be the head, fashioned with ears and face. The bottom piece would be round and where the clock would be.
Paint the cat bright yellow and orange-brown -- maybe with stripes. Your clock would have black numbers and hands. Outline your cat's features with black. At the bottom, you could fashion a tail and staple that to the body.
If you wanted something simpler, you could use the plate as only the cat's face. The lighter and brighter the cat the better the clock will stand out.

hello! there is a website:
www.maverickclockcreations.com
which might give you a few ideas- lots of images of different styles and interpretations that you might be able to get a few ideas from.
if you're not very creative you could make a simple wall clock just by cutting out an elegant shape out of wood or plastic to make your board, and then make a stencil by cutting into a piece of paper (like making a snowflake!) and spray paint through the snowflake stencil onto the board, maybe mark out the hours with buttons or something?
good luck! :0)

My son had to do that. He took one of his interests - soccer, and made the goalkeeper's hands reaching out for the ball in the goal mouth be the minute hands, and the legs the hours. He painted a simple background of crowd with a white goal mouth in front of them and behind the goalie. It made some very amusing 'saving' positions!

Pick any normal everyday item ( high heel, soda bottle, etc) something that most people would have laying around their bedroom. Then! turn it into a clock!
