I am 65 years old. and am female. Cheating is named for lots of things. But, I think cheating is if you steal someone's money or material things., that is cheating. But, you are probably asking about a man and woman not being faithful. You can have a good honest life with your mate, and the mate can love you so much., but cheating is what you perceive it to be. I have had all kinds of men that I thought were cheating, but they weren't, They were just being themselves. They loved me and just lived their life they way they thought it should be lived. Love is the answer, if they love you they love you. As long as they are with you, they love you. if they leave you just do what Jesus said, "shake the dirt off your feet, and go your way."

Every-ones take on this will be different, but I'll let you know how I define cheating. Sometimes things would vary depending on if there are feelings involved. But if I say my husband grab a girls butt I would consider that cheating. He would be touching another female inappropriately for his marital status. Of course any kiss or sexual act with another female would be cheating. If he thought someone was hot and rubbed her back I would consider it cheating. Some times it depends on the intention of the action. Flirting and watching porn isn't cheating in my book. I think some people have flirty personalities. But any affection or acts of affection and attraction would be cheating. I am a female and 23.

Male, 45. Cheating means breaking the rules on a fundamental level, whether you're talking about a board game or a marriage. If you have promised to "forsake all others," then the rule, the contract you have with your spouse, is that you won't get involved romantically with other people.

Question for Cecilia M: So, if a person did those things you stated, but did not keep them a secret from his partner, it wouldn't qualify as cheating?

I'm married, 36. Married for 7 years now.

Cheating in my book begins with thinking too much of another person. There you are already taking something from your beloved and dedicating to someone else. But that's only me.

Most people will start considering cheating when there is physical involvement.

As this world is very modern and things are changing a lot, you may want to get that definition from your partner.

Any form of meeting a married person's needs, whether emotionally, sexually, physically, verbally, etc. being met by anyone other than their spouse, that is considered "cheating".

Cheating define by unfaithfullness in wholly giving of themselves to their partner.

In addition to Cecilia's comment, it goes beyond simply being "secretive", but there are plenty of cases in which it is "open" and not a secret.

Whether secretly or openly, meeting the needs of another beside your spouse, or even receiving the meeting of your needs by someone other than your spouse: that's cheating.

agree with answer already.Having frienships with the opposite sex ,that is kept secret from your relationship. Flirting or liking others of the opposite se and keeping hidden, Accepting gifts, invitations, company, conversations from strangers of the opposite. It is not cheating if have a friendshipof the opposite sex if partner knows and accepts of this and usually is already occuring before you meet. And if not then no real reason for form any, and hanging out with opposite sex is considered or looked or viewed as cheating, even if frienship of both of thecouple but one is not present and should only be with of other is around or it would look like your dating their friend if out alone.

In my opinion, if a person even thinks about cheating, that's cheating.

    Jesus said it best...

Mat 5:27 ¶ Ye have heard that it was said by them of old time, Thou shalt not commit adultery:

Mat 5:28 But I say unto you, That whosoever looketh on a woman to lust after her hath committed adultery with her already in his heart.

You know I had quite a rant I thought of for this one - but I agree whole heartedly with the first answer - she nailed it on the head. But to add - I think internet versions of those things also count as cheating...and I'm female (duh) and 30 :-)
