where is the closest Catholic School near Mesa Creek in San Antonio?

I had looked into these before as I live less than a mile from Mesa Creek. Here are the schools I found closest.

By many people's opinion this may well be one of the best private schools in the city and state. This was the only San Antonio to be on the list of top 50 US Catholic High Schools and has been three times since 2000.

Some parents I spoke with talked about how their daughters begged to go back when moved to another school which was closer. All parents were pleased with this school.

This school is felt to be excellent by the parents and graduates. Works well with sister school Providence.

As far as high schools, these are all supposed to be very good. Antonian stands out as having an almost 100% graduation rate and 98% college acceptance rate.

As the parochial schools are not rated by the Texas Education Agency, but are instead part of the National Catholic Educational Association which does not produce a published rating (at least not one easily available) Parent Ratings are based purely on the voluntary reviews placed by parents. In most cases, the academics at all the schools was felt to be very good, and the schools with lower scores were, generally, due to administrative issues.

There may be some others in the area I missed, these were the ones at which I looked.

Saint Mary's Hall which Lalana mentioned is an excellent school, and a very good educational resource for San Antonio parents and students. It is, however, affiliated with the Episcopal Church and not the Catholic Church.

If you are considering christian schools other than Catholic, then there are several good schools close to the Stone Oak/Sonterra area. However, if you are looking for Catholic based parochial education the Doc's list is probably accurate for the area.

Being Catholic myself, I recommend any of the schools the good doctor is recommending above. Also we have 3 Catholic Universities in the city which are all wonderful and a student can take classes at one school while getting a degree from another. For example, my masters is from Our Lady of the Lake, but I took three classes at St. Mary's and one at Incarnate Word.

I was a member of St. Matthew's parish for a decade while my oldest son was little before moving to Corpus Christi. Upon my return, I began attending St. Anthony de Padua. My aunt taught at St. Pius on Harry Wurzbach, and she absolutely loved it. There is St. Mary's Hall off of Starcrest. Many students live there in the dorms. A neighbor of mine has sons who attended Holy Cross on Blanco. They are wonderful young men who know are graduating from St. Anthony's. It is now co-ed.

Many of my former students attended Providence and Incarnate Word and loved both schools although they claimed there was a lack from their education for electives, so they switched to the public area. But, my best friend in high school moved to Incarnate Word High School her sophomore year and graduated from said school.

Please don't get the wrong impression when you hear about teacher turnover. Teachers don't often stay in the catholic arena as schools in the public northside and northeast pay at least $15,000 more per annum. For anyone, especially a teacher with a master degree, that is alot!

I have taught many college students in the ACCD program with catholic educations These students say that they loved their Catholic education because of the one on one attention which they received. I will tell you that they are more disciplined than the public school kids. Also, they are actually taught curriculum as they do not worry about the TAKS test required in high school.
