Lane Kiffin fired???
If he does get fired today, or tomorrow, do you think Dennis Green is a suitable replacement?
Al Davis aside, who else can run this team?

everyone on this post just doesn't know what the hell they are talking about . First off, have some damn respect for AL DAVIS, because if it weren't for him there would be no NFL !!! PERIOD! LOOK UP YOUR DAMN FOOTBALL HISTORY. Yeah DAVIS is right to question Lane Kiffin's credibility of coaching ( if anyone knew football on this forum, they would actually know the internal conflicts regarding LANE and DAVIS). First off DAVIS questions KIFFIN's coaching decisions when he pleaded to trade MOSS to NE. DAVIS objected to the trade on MOSS, because DAVIS wanted to sign DAUNTE CULPEPPER, so he can create the same chemistry that existed on the MIN. VIKINGS. So right there DAVIS was pissed, I mean look how good MOSS is doing with a vet QB, over 20 tds under BRADY, hell he could of had over 10tds with CULPEPPER on the RAIDERS. But that did not happen because of KIFFIN. 2nd reason for the shakeup of KIFFIN's position, was the damn reports midseason of KIFFIN dealing head coach openings with ARKANSAS UNIV. and other colleges behind the RAIDERS back, when DAVIS heard that this was going on midseason, he was absolutely furious, KIFFIN's youthful oblivious attitude is getting him into alot of unethical situations in the NFL where he is backstabbing the Raidernation and the owner AL DAVIS, and wondering what he is doing wrong to make it all worse. Then to top it off at end season he goes to DAVIS after all the fire he created in RAIDERNATION, and requests that he fires ROB RYAN (bad move), a man who has been defensive coordinater for the past 5 years, a man who has shown his ultimate loyalty to us RAIDERFANS taking our defense to 3rd last year. A man who was being considered for our head coaching job last year behind KIFFIN. So obviously KIFFIN screwed up in the highest through his errors of oblivious action, now it just so happens out of coincidence it is misunderstood owner AL DAVIS he is screwing over. Yeah I have my issues with DAVIS, i have been a die hard loyal Raider fan for 30 years, and I will die a Raider fan. And all of you naysayers won't remember much when Raiders glory days come back, if you do your homework we got 3 SUPERBOWL RINGS, APPEARED IN OVER 8 CHAMPIONSHIPS , AND HAVE ONE OF THE LARGEST WINNING PERCENTAGES IN THE NFL, OH YEAH DON'T FORGET JOHN MADDEN, DAVIS WAS RESPONSIBLE FOR JOHN MADDEN. NEXT TIME YOU ARE PLAYING MADDEN FOOTBALL, JUST REMEMBER WHO GAVE HIM HIS GOD GIVEN OPPORTUNITY. I don't blame DAVIS for firing KIFFIN, KIFFIN is certainly a good head coach, but where his loyalty lies, and his questionable work ethics are certainly the basis for DAVIS wanting KIFFIN to resign.

Lane Kiffin can run that team! If Al Davis would just back off and let the head coach have control over his team the Raiders might actually start showing improvement. Kiffin tried to fire the defensive coordinator Rob Ryan after the season was over (which was a good move) and Al Davis went over his head and said no. Nobody is going to make the Raiders any better as long as Al Davis has the last say in everything, as long as Davis is there they will keep signing washed up veterans (ie: Rich Gannon, Randy Moss, Donovan Darius, Garrison Hearst) instead of young fresh talent and looking for the quick fix. The Raiders are a lost cause until Davis kicks the bucket.
Well if thats the case bring Dennis Green in then... he couldn't do any worse than the rest of them have.

Lane Kiffin is not fired... yet...
Al Davis has been trying to force him out by taking away some of the control that he had promised him and is basically trying to make Lane's job "hellish" so that he will re-sign, probably to save money he would have to pay Kiffin if he fired him.
Kiffin is holding his ground and daring Al to fire him.
Dennis Green has been mentioned multiple time for the Raider position and would bring some pedigree. However, i think that the Raiders just need some stability (5 coaches -- and changes in coaching staff in 7 years- no winning seasons since 2002- so they need some stability). Personally i thought Kiffin was doing a decent job and i think can build the team maybe up to 7 wins if he stays... but the Raiders are a mess and it starts way up top with the control freak Al Davis.

Al Davis needs to fire himself, he is making a mockery out of one of the storied teams. Lane Kiffin is young and was starting to get some discipline established. The team may have had a 8-8 to 10-6 season next year and if he is fired or forced to resign. The team will be set back another year, this makes no sense. How long can the Raider fans put up with Al Davis and his coaching carousel.

It doesn't matter who the replacement is going to be if Lane Kiffen gets fired.
Al Davis runs the team. He controlls everything. Its why the Raiders suck. He doesn't let the coaches do their job, he would rather do it for them.
So nobody else can run this team as long as Al Davis is there.
Good luck!!

This job is an absolute joke, due to the partners unwilling or unable to get Davis out of running the show further into the sewer. I can't see any established coach wanting a job where an old man thinks it's 1968. Once a storied franchise, it has a very poor reputation in the league.

He didn't get fired Al Davis asked him to resign so he would have to fire him, because if Davis fires him he has to pay him the 4 million dollars left on his contract. Davis has completely lost his mind and Kiffin would be crazier to sign the letter.

Yes but it would be another pointless move for the Raiders because they will have to start all over again. Keep Kiffin because at least he has put the Raiders in a winning direction. they did improve.....

Maybe Art Shell wants another try. You know what they say, the third times a charm. lol.
I don't know why any one would want to coach under an owner like Al Davis.

as long as al davis is with the raiders, the raiders are going to suck. he always brings in new coaches and fires them the next season. the raiders offense cant run with new coaches every year...al davis is a dumb crack head who cant run the raiders.
