Knowledge is gaining and storing information.
Wisdom, on the other hand, is knowing how to act on that knowledge.
So, this would imply that there may be many people with great amounts of knowledge who do not possess wisdom.
In my opinion, the most frightening thing of all are people who possess power, with inadequate knowledge and little or no wisdom. Think about how much misery they cause in the world!

In my opinion, wisdom is using your knowledge in a real world situation. To know that smoking is bad for you and try it anyways, that is knowledge not used towards wisdom. If you turn it down, knowing that it is bad for you, that would be wise. It comes from knowing and using that knowledge for a good cause. It has not to do with age, race, or anything but practicing what you preach.
And the age part? I am 13. A bit of a pretentiously worded 13 year old, but still. If a child does this, they can be wise. If you have an excellent counterargument, I'd love to hear it, but I stand by my opinion.

Wisdom is not knowledge and knoowledge is not wisdom. Wisdom is not what one knows but what ones does with what ones knows.

knowledge and wisdom are very different. knowledge is that which is known. wisdom shares a root with wizened (old and shriveled) and implies understanding
