Sick puppy :(?

Arg I have no idea what to do. My puppy has had runny poop for about a week now.....

DO NOT GET ON MY CASE about why didn't you take him to the vet...if we thought it was something bad we would have...we thought it was just because of the homemade treats we bought.

Now he's starting to throw up...he's thrown up at least 20 times in the past 40 minutes.

I'm now thinking that he got into something. Maybe a pill or something like that. But the pills that my family takes are these pathetic, not even the size of a pea, pills. Even if he did get one I don't think he'd be throwing up that much.

We are going to get him a vet appointment early Monday (we are going to be at the vets early whether we have an appointment or not), but hopefully it won't get to the point where we take him to the animal hosital.

He started resting for a bit, and now he's starting to whine before he throws up. I'm starting to get really worried, but my parents think that he's just being sick.

Update:

He's not drinking any water. I try to give him a drop that's on my finger and he just pulls his head away. I'm really worried. What should I do?!

Update 2:

We called the animal hospital and they we realized what it was. The runny poop is due to the food we switched to..guess it was too rich for them, so we are switching back (the vet said to put some ice cubes and a little drop of something in the water to give it flavor to get him to drink). He's now drinking and doing great.

The vet didn't have an answer to the throwing up, but she asked what we washed the floor with (they are kept in the kitchen). We just wash it with soap and water, but we knew my dad washed the floor last (today actually). My dad was stupid enough to wash it with Pine Sol or whatever it's called. My puppt has lots of allergies and the vet thought he was throwing up due to the strong aroma of the Pine Sol.

We scrubbed the floors on our hands and knees and got all of the smell out of the air. Opened all the windows and turned on the fans. And it worked. The minute we opened the windows, he stopped throwing up

Update 3:

What is parvo? How can he get it? He's not been near any other dogs but his brother and his brother hasn't been near any other dogs.

The only time he get's depressed if when he does an accident on the floor. But in the morning he's the same old happy puppy.

Wouldn't he be depressed all the time then?

Update 4:

Also NOTE to everyone

He's not a puppy, I should have stated his age, and I forgot to. He's 2 years old...I still call him a puppy though, sorry about that

A puppy who's been having diarrhea for a week and is now even refusing water is seriously dehydrated. Your parents are insisting on waiting to save money on a vet - well with a dehydrated puppy, he doesn't have until Monday.

Along with pet ownership comes responsibility and that means taking care of a sick dog. He needs the vet before Monday!

He is whining, because he's in pain! Your puppy has symptoms of Parvo, which is deadly! He is also probably very dehydrated. He won't make it until Monday! I'll put it to you this way, if you don't take your vet to an Emergency Vet Clinic NOW, he may die! You have a very sick little puppy, and if you love him and if you want him to survive this, then you need to get off the computer, and take him to a vet Immediately. If this has already been going on for a week, then he probably doesn't have much time left. Be a responsible pet owner, and do the right thing.

Vomiting really causes dehydration, and I would be very concerned that the puppy isn't drinking any water. Even if the dog got into something, I can't imagine a dog being able to throw up that much in such a short period of time. Is there still something in his stomach, or is it just bile? How long has this been going on?

I would be worried that there is something else causing this, such as parvo. Has the puppy had any of its shots yet? Try to get some electrolytes into his water (don't try to force feed anything) and get your dog to the vet if this continues.

TAKE THAT PUPPY TO THE VET NOW!!!! the loss of fluid can cause death but the intense pain you will watch before hand, Is not something you will forget for years to come. Don't make that baby suffer any more. This is too serious for pepto. Take it from some one who has gotten litters through Parvo Only with the Vets help. This is not something to mes with. I can understand it will be cheaper to take a animal to the Vet during reg, bus, hours but when you take responsibility for the life of another you take responsibility for the bills as well. It is wrong for your parents to put not only this poor little puppy through this but there own child. I have issues with that.

Take your puppy to a 24/7 pet emergency hospital NOW. Your puppy could be dying!

This IS something bad, and has been for several days!. Get off the computer and take him to the vet right now!

I would take your puppy to the animal hospital ASAP. I know it can be expensive but it may be something really bad that could ultimately take his little life. With puppy that are curious you never can tell if they got into something harmful or it's just the wrong food. But by the symptoms you described I would take him in right away because it sounds like something harmful.

do not feed him any food or water until tomorrow morning...he will just throw it back up, because his stomach is unsettled right now. tmo morning, try to get him to have some ice chips (ice cube broken up) and if he keeps that down for a few hours, give him some boiled rice every few hours. when you go to the vet, take a sample of his runny poop (i know its gross...put some in a plastic baggie), and it could definitely be worms or something like that, and he will probably need some antibiotic to treat him...but if things do get any worse or he doesnt stop throwing up, you'll have to take him to a hospital so he doesn't get dehydrated

Edit: ok changed my mind! take to the vet NOW!! it really could be parvo, and a week is a long time to have diarhhea

If you was in the puppies condition ... would you go to the doctor. Id say either take to the vet or watch the puppy slowly suffer
