To answer your question, no of course Tomlinson isn't done. Sounds like wishful thinking on your part. As for him proving he can't play in pain - that's a fairly ignorant statement. The dude is an NFL player, they play in pain every week and to think they don't is extremely naive. And it isn't just a bruised knee, if you looked at any press in the last couple of weeks you would know that it was hyperextended and then he re-injured it during the AFC game and it's sprained now - much different from a bruise, look it up. All he did was prove that he's smart and a team player by not going out there and playing at less than his best when he has Michael Turner as a backup and by not jeopardizing his career.

Tomlinson has played with pain many times. As a running back though, you need to have explosion to help your team. When you have a bad leg, it can really slow you down.
Look at Travis Henry in Denver. Over the first four games he led the league in rushing. Then he hurt his knee. He tried to play hurt, but lacked the explosion to put up good numbers.
Reggie Bush in New Orleans had a legitimate tear and could not explode through the hole. He tried to play through it and wasn't effective.
There are countless other examples. Bottom line is, Norv Turner removed Tomlinson from the game because he was not effective playing hurt. When Tomlinson was asked if he wanted to go back in, he probably thought he could not out produce a healthy Turner.
It is one thing for a quarterback or an offensive lineman to play with a hurt leg, but it isn't something that running backs do well with, especially if it takes away their explosiveness.

He just needs to rest his knee and he will be back better than ever. He will want to prove all those who have said bad things about him wrong.

When you have an off day on Yahoo Answers and ask a stupid question....should you retire from asking anymore?

No, he proved that ligament damage to your knee will cut you mobility to the point that you can't help if you do play.
