Which driver will be the most positive surprise this year?
-- Jamie McMurray and Casey Mears: I believe both will show that they can compete with the best of them. Each with maybe a win, but both with a few top 5s and 10s.
Which driver will be the most negative surprise this year?
-- Danny Hamlin: He'll have some good finishes, but it will be his worst season this year.
Which team will surprise most this year?
-- GEM: I believe Kahne will win a few races and make the chase. I believe Sadler will have some strong finishes. Patrick will deliver for GEM on the road courses.
Which team will disappoint most this year?
- He come the thumbs down. Gibbs: They will provide great information for Toyota this year and help Toyota with their program, but I believe this team will strong throughout the season.
Which driver who didn't win last year will break their duck this season?
-- Kasey Kahne: Usually after a bad season he'll deliver the following season. He'll win and make the chase.
-- Dale Jr: He has a lot to prove this season. He'll win and make the chase.
-- Bobby Labonte: It's about time for him and Petty Enterprise to start rolling.
Which current driver/drivers will be looking for new rides next season?
-- As for right now, I can't think of anyone.

Most Positive: Brian Vickers. Answer will be provided for the Team that suprises
Most Negative: Martin Truex Jr. Answer will be provided for team that dissapoints
Team that Suprises: Red Bull Racing. With Toyota going into a 2nd year, as well as Joe Gibbs coming to Toyota (if Toyota is about sharing ideas, it should help ALL teams), and Red Bull having the cash to improve the team, I would not be suprised if, especially Brian Vickers, would contend for wins.
Team that Dissapoints: DEI. The whole Dale Jr. deal, with him leaving for Hendrick will defently cut off the cash flow that Jr. provided by driving the cars there, and unless anybody there has something up there sleeve, despite Ginn's cash, I feel that the team could start a slow death.
Which Driver that didnt win, will: Kasey Kahne. This one is too easy. Kahne had an abnormally (for him) bad year. With Gillett cash helping the team, A bounce back should happen. If not, there will be lots of questions about Kahne, and the team.
Which Drivers will be looking for rides: Anyone on Yates. The team is dying a slow death. Unless they find someone to help that team out, and get sponsors to keep that team afloat, despites Doug Yates assurances of the team running an entire season even if they dont have a primary sponsor, if I am David Gilliand and Travis Kvapil, I might think about starting and looking around for rides for 09.

Most positive surprise: A.J. Allmendinger (he drives hard, may start driving smart with a better car)
Most negative surprise: Kevin Harvick (too many irons in the fire and RCR with exception of Bowyer faded badly in '07)
Most surprising team: Joe Gibbs (to some- Toyota haters)/Michael Waltrip (to the rest of us. They've got the drivers)
Most disappointing team: Gillett Evernham (This team's a mess and it's all Ray's fault. Kahne may rise above..or leave)
Break the duck: Junior (he's on the Yankees now)
Drivers who look for new rides: David Ragan, David Gilliland, possibly Jamie Mac, Paul Menard, Jeremy Mayfield among others. For some it's because of weak teams, others are overrated drivers.

The most Positive should be Dale Jr after his move from DEI to Hendrick. ( I hope anyway)
The driver with the most negative should be Kyle Bush, his move from Chevy to Toyota, and Gibbs won't put up with his baby attitude, I will struggle through the season
The team that will surprise everybody will be DEI, after the season last year, I can see them bounce back, and have something to prove without Dale Jr.
The team that will disappoint this year will be once again Waltrip Racing. Maybe this year they can actually get into some races??
By Breaking their duck, I hope you mean by winning this season. That would be Dale Jr. He has a very good chance.
Who will look for rides next season, Kyle Bush (Gibbs can't find a babysitter for 5.15 an hour) I'll say Martin Truex, Jeremy Mayfield, Hate to say it but Casey Mears.

The most positive surprise will be the open wheel guys. Only JPM will win but the others will do better than people think. Nascar nation as a whole doesn't appreciate the talent of guys from other series. The most negative surprise will be Hendrick because they can only go downhill from last year. They will rack up lots of wins but nothing like last year. A tear like that has to end. The most surprising team will be Ganassi. They will finally get a driver into the chase. If Montoya can avoid the DNF's, it will be him. The most disappointing team will be Gibbs. They will get Toyota its first win but will not be competitive for the championship. Dale Jr will finally win a race, maybe more. He is the headline story of the year. We will all find out just how talented or untalented he truly is. Carl Edwards will be looking for a new ride. It doesn't sound like things are cozy with him in the Roush camp. Maybe he'll end up in a 4th RCR car. But who knows, I cant wait to find out.

Most Positive surprise: Casey Mears I Think he will have someting to prove seeing as is the overlooked driver and Hendrick Motorsports
Most Negative Surprise: Kyle Busch I Think he will struggle with the new team and car make
Surprise team: Hall of Fame Racing I think J.J. Yeley is a perfect fit for this team. I would not be surprised to see them win a race
Most Dissapointing team: Roush Just a feeling
Driver who didn't win that will this year: Dale jr. Obviously he better win!!
Looking for rides next year: Maybe Newman or Biffle
- TregosteevoLv 71 decade ago
positive surprise: I really think Greg Biffle is going to get back to his championship contending potential in the standings again this year. Considering that he hasn't made the chase the last 2 seasons I believe he will not only make the chase but finish in the top 5, like he did in 2005. He started to gel with his new crew chief last year and will be decent as long as Jack doesn't make a bunch of personnel changes on him again.
most negative surprise: Kevin Harvick, he will surprise a lot of people by not making the chase this year. He spreads himself so thin by not only running as many Nationwide races as he does, but by also owning Nationwide and truck teams. His mind is not focused on just racing in the Sprint Series.
team surprise: I would say JGR but I'm not convinced that they will surprise THAT many people. MWR, on the other hand, is going to be much better this year. David Reutimann is the real deal and they were making huge strides towards the end of last year. With JGR bringing all the Toyota teams up a little I wouldn't be all that surprised if Reut wins one this year. If Mikey would just get out of the car and devote his time to team obligations they could progress even faster.
team disappointment: RCR will not be as good this year as they were last year and I think only one of Richard's drivers (maybe 2) will make the chase this year. For a team that had all 3 drivers in last year, Clint Bowyer was the only one that remained real consistent for the whole year. When Kevin and Jeff were good, they were really good but when they were bad they really struggled to stay on the lead lap.
didn't win last year but will this year: Dale Earnhardt Jr and Ryan Newman because they consistently run up front and have good enough equipment to finish the job.
drivers looking for new rides next year: Jamie McMurray, Elliott Sadler and Tony Stewart. Jack will get fed up with Jamie not living up to his hype. Elliott will want to contend again. Smoke will win a couple of races but not get along with Shrub (he already doesn't do so well with Denny). He will also want to get back with GM because they have and still do support him.

Most positive: Casey Mears
Most Negative: Dale Jr. Changing teams won't make that much difference.
Most surprise: Greg Biffle will be back in winners circle
Most disappointment: Same as #2
Break their duck: Mark Martin, he's way over due for a win and David Ruedamann
New ride next season: Elliot Sadler, & Paul Menard

Most Positive surprise: Greg Biffle
Most negative surprise:Denny Hamlin
Surprise Team: Penske Racing
Disappointment: Yates Racing
Break their luck: Kasey Kahne
Looking for new rides next year:
David Gilliland(heard Yates say put up or shut up)
Jeremy Mayfield(too inconsistent)
Jamie McMurray(Roush need to cut a team by next year because of the 4 car rule)
Elliot Saddler(hasn't had a good couple of last years, GEM might want to bring someone else in to jump start that team)
Source(s): Have a great week everybody!
