The ambulance would have to stop to render help to the injured person. They would call dispatch to have a second ambulance go to their original call. Even if an ambulance is driving and sees someone hurt that they didnt "run over" they would do the same thing. An example is that EMS is driving to a residence for a call when they witness an accident up the road. The ambulance would stop at that accident and then have dispatch send another ambulance to their original call. EMS, Fire & Law Enforcement have a duty to act. If they fail to provide that duty they can be charged with neglect.

they damn well better their jobs would be at stake. they would be required to stop and secure the scene as it was called in and dispense first aide to the most injured first. (Unless of course they were injured and that might make it hard to assist when you cant assist ones self))and if it was me i would definitely stop and help I always reach out when someone may need help Im just that way

They must, It's their job and they also go to the person's house too.

it backs up to finish the job and keeps going.

Yes, just so they don't have to go to jail for "hit and run".
