My children are grown and I am in a season of change. I love cats, reading and writing. My family is very important to me and my relationship with Jesus Christ is my passion. Jesus rescued me from literal and spiritual death. I want to share God's love and Salvation with people who don't know Him. I'm in midlife revision and looking to see what to do in the second half of my life. I hope to learn some new skills and maybe find an artistic hobby to enjoy. =)

  • Can you tell me how to stop Y/A from taking so many "Coffee Breaks"? ?

It seems like once each night I try to post an important answer and Y/A just has to take a 3 hour "coffee break". Their breathers take so long I suspect they are going to a hospital for breathing treatments. Does Y/A have a breathing disorder?

Is it getting on anyone else's nerves besides mine? It always happens when I have an answer I took time to compose and really want to post.

If you have any suggestions on how to solve this problem (AVOIDING ALL OBSCENITIES AND USELESS COMMENTS) please let me know how to fix this!

  • Who has brought out the best in your character?

I grew up in an abusive family, one so bad I won't describe them.

By age 18, I nearly killed myself. I ended up becoming a Christian and that turned my life 180 degree's opposite to my family. I made my first real friends among Christians and all my biggest influences were Christians.

Do you have one, special person who influenced you for good? Who was it and how did they influence you?

  • When God seems silent and you do not sense His presence, how do you react?

I'm going through a time when Jesus is quiet and isn't communicating with me in any obvious way. I'm feeling like its been too quiet, for too long.

For practicing believers, have you gone through this and what did you do when you did go through it?

  • Where did my TC Badge go, my BA % is over 12 at all times?

I've been a part of Yahoo Answers since last September, 2007. Not too long after I got a TC badge and I liked it. I lost it, regained it, lost it and regained it and then lost it and never got it back - even though I've had consistent points weekly, except for 2 weeks in June.

Some don't care about the points. I really do, it is fun for me. I like my points and I like the TC badge I used to have and I'm not too proud to say so. This is one of my favorite hobbies and it bothers me that the TC badge is provided and removed capriciously. I assume the moderators could check my stats somehow. It's sort of funny, but I hang between 12 and 13 percent always - its never been more or less!

  • I've missed 2 nights of sleep and I can't seem to let go and sleep, will you pray for me?

I spent two weeks in Italy and then came back to Texas. It was a very nice trip; I've never been abroad before. Physically it was a challenge for me because of pain issues and because I'm not physically fit. I am feeling like I can't relax and rest and sleep. I don't know if what I'm experiencing is just normal or a bit much. I feel very tense and like I'm going to fly apart emotionally.

Besides prayer does anyone know what I should do to get back to my normal life?

I would appreciate any advice from those who have traveled overseas/across several time zones. For those of you who pray, thanks a lot!

  • If your friend was in this medical emergency, how would you pray?

My friend Jeannie, has extremely severe insomnia and sleep medicines don't help her any more. She is so worried and anxious that she is obsessed with her situation. She can't think of anything else and is close to some kind of breakdown.

She and her husband, Jack are going to California today, seeking medical help. They are going to test her brain to see why she can't sleep or stop obsessing. They don't know if her problem is biochemical, emotional and/or spiritual.

I told my friend I would ask people to pray for her, but there are many ways a person could pray for her situation. If you knew Jeannie, how would you pray for her?

If you believe in prayer, will you please pray for this couple? This is a genuine emergency.

I appreciate any sincere answers and insights you may have to share. Thank you very much!

  • How would you address this woman's need?

I have a friend who is having terrible problems with insomnia and obsessive cycles of thought. Her sleep problems are so bad that she's run out of prescriptions that help. She is so upset by what is happening that she can't think of anything else. She is frantic, driven, miserable and afraid she might die.

Will you pray for my friend, Jeannie?

She and her husband are going to someplace in California for medical testing on her brain to see if they can find the problem and get her some relief.

If you have resources that can explain this problem to me I would sure appreciate it. I will pray for my friend - but I would like to understand what she is going through - surely she's not the only one who's ever gone through such extremes of insomnia and OCD.

I would appreciate any information you can give. This is a life-threatening situation, so please don't make any jokes or give sarcastic answers. Thank you.

  • Have you had a day when everything sent wrong and then you met someone and knew God had arranged the meeting?

Today I needed to get a prescription filled. They told me to return in an hour. I was annoyed but went and ran some errands and got back 75 minutes later and they were not ready with my prescription. I sat down and saw a young woman who looked as exhausted as I felt. We began to talk and I found out she has cancer and is on chemo, her mom has cancer, is on chemo and dying in hospice. She has a 9 year old son, has lost her house and job to cancer and is now homeless. She and I exchanged phone numbers and prayed together before our prescriptions were ready.

When I left, my attitude about delays and a few other things had been completely adjusted! I went home grateful for my particular set of problems because they looked pretty good compared to what this tired young woman faced!!!

Has God ever led you into a "Divine Encounter" that changed your views or attitudes? If you remember one, please share it and encourage all our faith in God. Thank you.

  • What might inspire you to write your own blog?

Something I read today from a favorite website encouraged readers to develop a hobby and write a blog about it. There are so many thousands of blogs on the net, why would anyone read one that I wrote or you wrote? Do you think every blog gets read by someone besides the writer?

  • Do you have a favorite Bible passage, one you come back to over and over?

The Bible affects my thinking profoundly and certain quotes people say are so deep I think about them repeatedly. Do you have something you "meditate" on?

Jeremiah 29:11 means a lot to me, it says "For I know the plans I have for you," says the Lord, "Plans for good and not for evil to give you a future and a hope."

I admire a quote from a missionary, Jim Elliot, killed by stone-age tribesmen, with 4 other men when he tried to make the first ever contact with them.Years before he had said, "HE IS NO FOOL WHO GIVES WHAT HE CANNOT KEEP TO GAIN WHAT HE CANNOT LOSE". He spoke of entrusting his life to God here/now, in exchange for an eternal life with God after death. His wife & sister befriended their killers and told them about God's love. This people's entire culture was based on warfare/killing and the murder rate was 50% of all men/women & children! "Through Gates of Splendor" is the biography of these events. Their commitment to God/God's love amazes & challenges me still!!

  • When you feel deep emotional pain that you can't share with anyone else, what helps or encourages you?

Please don't give me flippant or sarcastic answers, I really want to know how you keep going during a painfully emotional time. Nothing tragic is happening, its just time to go back and let God heal something from long ago that hurt so bad I buried it deep inside. I trust God more now and its time to deal... Thanks for any/all real answers
