I've missed two nights of sleep in a row; any advice?
I got back from Europe last wednesday. I feel very tense and I can't seem to just relax and get some sleep. Can anyone tell me what to do? I feel awful and badly stressed.

yes he is likely picking up on the change of routine, and missing his daddy. also, if he is getting his molars, they are very difficult and painful teeth to cut through and often disrupt toddlers who have had no problem with other teeth previously. If you suspect teething pain might be contributing, apply teething gel, offer hard foods to bite (a baby biscuit or a slice of apple perhaps) and as a last resort, try some pain relief medication. Likely he is over tired by now. One thing that helps my son cope when he's over tired is to repeat his bedtime routine. We go through the routine and put him to bed at 7. If by chance he doesn't sleep and gets over tired and worked up the best way to settle him is to get him out of bed, and do it all over again. The dinner (make is very light e.g a few grapes or a half cup of yogurt), the bath, the story, and then to bed. The whole deal. it works every time without fail if he's over tired. My husband has erratic work hours too, so we started a "say goodnight" routine on our way to bed each night. If my husband is home, he'll give daddy a kiss. If he is at work, he'll give a photo of daddy a kiss goodnight instead. This helps him stick to routine, without the whole Daddy Part of his routine going out the window.

You need to take your mind off of whatever is bothering you. Try reading a book or watching a video. If you are tossing and turning in your bed trying to sleep then get up for about 15 minutes, do something that requires some movement, then go back to bed and it should be easier to drift off.
I know how you feel. I often can't sleep cos my brain is buzzing with problems and stuff.

It's going to have to take its toll with a little of your reasoning by asscessing your experiences, and feelings from your trip, and trying to get yourself back into the swing of things back at home now. It's going to be OK, your a smart women and are
very capable. Try to relish on all the good that came out of the trip.
