what is up with these YAHWEH ppl who some say are cults..?
theres alot of ppl calling god YAHWEH (which is how the LORD is pronounced in Hebrew) i dont feel anything is wrong with that because it is His Name but what are these ppl really fighting about? there are way better translations of the bible than that "The Scriptures" translation and it seems like changing the name of other Gods to ""mighty ones" is kind of pointless and they used the word "Elohim" for both. what is all this meaningless bickering who really cares if we call God the LORD or YAHWEH or what??? i dont get it. i also believe in Lordship salvation but not legalism and this keep the law keep the law keep the law jargon. i think this is part of the debate somehow. anyone know anymore about this stuff?

There are different names for different gods. Don't believe those who say most people worship the same god.

Very close to the truth. As you know, what people are scared of, they label it in some frightening group. People who use the personal name of God, whether it be Yahweh or Jehovah, scare others. It is different from what they were taught. Different is scary.
But look at it this way, a close friend is not called "Hey You!!" all the time. He has a first name and you use it. He may have a title and you use that when appropriate. God is a title, not a name. The Bible tells us there are many gods and lords. Most have no real power other than t5hat of worshipers. Pro football is a god to some and has power due to the fans. Pro football can not create life or give more life to anyone. Elohim or Adonai are similar words to god, a title not a name.
The Creator, the God of the Bible, Yahweh or Jehovah can do so. Just as "that guy a couple decades ago" will not work as well as "Namath" in conversation, it is fitting to call Jehovah, Jehovah.
Most people have never in their entire lives been shown in their own Bibles Psalms 83:18. In almost all translations, the name Jehovah as the proper name of the Most High God appears. This goes against everything they have been "not taught".
Also the Mosaic Law is no longer in force due to Jesus fulfilling that law covenant. As followers of Christ or Christians, we are only under the guiding principles of those laws. That is why we don't have altars to sacrifice animals any more. With Jesus' death, that old law was ended.
That does not mean Jehovah does not have requirements for us and work for his people to accomplish. If we refuse to do anything, how can we expect Jehovah to do anything for us?

YAHWEH [ YHWH ]. An English-language version of the
probable name by which the Hebrews thought of God. For the
Hehrews the name of each person represented the person
himself. Thus the name of the Holy God represented his power and His holiness. They regarded the name with utmost reverence. It is believed the name would have been
pronounced ''YAHWEH,'' but it was seldom spoken. In writing it only four letters, translated as YHWH and called the
Tetragrammaton, were used. Today in the English version of
the Old Testament '' Lord '' is often used in places where the name of God is indicated. YHWH or Yahweh rarely appears
except in footnotes

Isaiah 28:13
So then, the word of the Lord to them will become:
Do and do, do and do,
rule on rule, rule on rule;
a little here, a little there—
so that they will go and fall backward,
be injured and snared and captured.
NIV
The Word from my conscious is sufficient especially over scriptures but that doesn't mean I don't know scriptures inside out backward and forward. What it does mean is that God speaks directly to our hearts and all legalistic Cults of all faiths are just Images that's given life by false conclusions. Like the image of the beast in revelations. In time perhaps people will all come to understand how religion is manipulated to benefit governments rather than benefiting God. The call goes out for people to leave the Church if they love God. There is a true Church and like God it is invisible.

There is a group that call themselves Yahweh something or other. Anyway, I saw the site about a year ago. Someone I knew was asking me about them, so I looked it up. The teachings in this system was totally contrary to the Bible, had a taste similar to other cults (which I will refrain from naming, you can figure this out I am sure).
Anyway, that is the best I can figure that might represent what you are talking about. I haven't seen the questions or answers that are referring to Yahweh as a cult, so I can't really say.
You are right though, YAHWEH is the name of God.

Some of us have problems with the various cults of Yahweh - that would include Judaism, Christianity, Islam and Mormonism. Yahweh refers to the actual deity, and the cults are often referred to in combination as "Abrahamic" religions.
These four groups are responsible for most, if not all, of the genocide in history and some of us think it's time you all stopped killing people with whom you disagree.

In truth the Hebrews do not believe in pronouncing the name of god at all. I was only ever supposed to be pronounced in temple and even then they preferred a euphemism (that also was discouraged from being spoken outside of temple).

I use the name Yahweh so nobody is confused on which God I am referring to. He is the God of The Holy Bible, The Torah and who is referred to in The Dead Sea Scrolls. These Yahweh people you are referring to,which I am one of them are in fact the only non-cult group of people in existence. He is also the God that The United States of America owes it's existence to. It is His Mosaic Law that America's judicial laws are based on in our court systems. He is the God we use to pledge allegiance to. He is the God we refer to in the words "In God We Trust" on our money. He is the God who is the Author of The Bible we swear on in our courts of law. He is the God who cloned Himself in the flesh who Christians and the whole world knows as Jesus. So if you think the followers of Yahweh are part of a cult, you do not belong in The United States of America.

True; we are not to focus our attention on the law, but on Jesus. Jesus is the way, the truth, and the life, and no man comes to the Father but thru Him, John 14:6.

1. That is not how His name is pronounced in Hebrew. I'd (we'd) know, I (we) speak Hebrew.
2. It's not His name anyway.
