Need some advice related to a person at work!?
Basically, I really don't know what to do about this woman at work. I am supposed to take over her job as she is leaving soon. She is really nice and friendly and helps me out with personal matters if needed but when it comes to learning things related to her job she lets me down.
E.g- I've been asking her for a few weeks about going through some files with her and she kept telling me how busy she had been. Yesterday I went to ask her again and I found out she is going through the files with somebody else. The least she could have done is called me to join in! It's not too much to ask is it? I am quite annoyed with her. I do like her as a friend but I don't know why she is doing this! It's not the first time she is letting me down! I mean she is the one who wants to leave, the company wants her to stay. I am going to be in s**t in the end if I don't get no trainning. What shall I do?

You sound extremely stressed out and she sounds too busy to really train you properly.
How bout, make a 15 minute "appointment" with her so its a good time for the both of you then she will go through the important stuff with you.

You have to tell your manager or someone in your department that you feel that your trainer is not providing you enough attention to the tasks you will have to address to succeed at work. Tell them that you would like to know if there is anyone else you can train with and that due to her leaving that she might be distracted (which is understandable but none the less it shouldn't happen). You don't want to implicate your position in the company since you are very excited with the opportunity they have given you with the new job.
