Has anyone ever had chlamydia?

I went to Doc's for a checkup as I thought I had a bacterial infec down below, and she said that as routine they check for chlamydia as it is on the increase.

Now a lot of my signs and symptoms are that of a few things and one of them is chlamydia, am I right to be a bit frightened or am I reading too much into it?

I have now got to have a smear as if it is an infec she needs to know which antibiotics to give me...

Now I did have long term partner 2 years ago that cheated on me alot (I didn't know) so I know it could be a possibility.....

What do u think and what are your experiences?

Thanks..x

Update:

But I have a new partner since my lovely ex, who worships and adores me. He did know my ex, and heard alot of stories about his ways, I just hope he will understand?

you can carry chlamydia around for a long time without symptoms, so it's possible your cheating ex gave you a little parting gift. The bummer is that if you have had sex since him, you need to notify him so he gets treatment too.

Lots of people have chlamydia without knowing it. Hopefully, you will get this treated if it comes back positive, have another culture done after finishing the antibiotic to make sure it is cleared up and then, from now on, practice safe sex always.

there is no symptoms for chlamydia, its the most common among young people but its very easily treated with a course of antibiotics....no need to worry, if you leave it too long it could lead to infertility.

i had it when i was seventeen - and i had absolutely no symptoms, so if your ex did leave you with a little present it's better to be dealth with. if it's left untreated chlamydia can cause infertility among other things. dont worry - when it's caught it is easy to deal with by taking antibiotics. besides, dont panic - you may not have anything!

Chlamydia is transferred through skill of unprotected coitus, anal intercourse, or oral intercourse. in case you think of think approximately chlamydia, or in case you think of you have carried out any of the aforementioned activities with somebody you think of could have chlamydia, you may desire to circulate see your surgeon, because it rather is treatable with antibiotics.
