John Edwards?

Just wondering if any one feels the same as me. Do you think Edwards drop out of the race too soon?

His only claim to fames are:

    1) Made his fortune as a plaintiff's trial attorney, everybody's favorite whipping boy (see overlawyered.com)

    2) Had the right demographics to get selected to run with Gore last time.

    3) Has appeared on TV numerous times making his wife's cancer everyone's business.

Has the guy ever actually accomplished anything as a Senator? because even though I voted for Gore last time, and that gives me reason to consider his candidacy this time, he sure never was able to make that case anywhere AFICT.

Maybe he will take the next 4 years to do something like Gore did with his time since the last election. He can certainly afford to not work at all and to do good if it is in him.

I don't think that it was too soon. Edwards finally realized that he was running against history itself.

I think that Edwards should have waited until after Super Tuesday to end his election though.

A lot of African American voters are going to be voting for either Obama or Hillary. Also, the large majority of younger voters have been drawn to Obama as well and I think that the younger voters will be making a BIG difference in the election more than ever. If Edwards couldn't even win his home state, then I think that it was a good idea for him to drop out.

He didn't have a chance anyway. He couldn't win if he was the only candidate. Mickey Mouse gets more write-in votes that Edwards gets with his name printed on the ballot. He can't make a good showing in his home state. What a joke. Edwards had 4 years to develop imposing credentials to be a viable presidential candidate; he spent 4 years just posing as a viable presidential candidate. It's time for him to drop out of politics and get a real job.

No--maybe if he we running in another year, with two less notable opponents, but not in 08.

No. The real possibility of him being nominated was very slim.
