Why is the general assumption in the wrestling category that any topic must be focused "pro" wrestling?
Why is the assumption, and the inevitable argument to follow, that any discussion of wrestling must be about "pro" wrestling. I've seen multiple questions about actual wrestling where the asker has been taunted or misinformed by people in this category. This category is actually under "sports"...thus, dedicated to the sport of wrestling. It is not under "soap operas", "acting", "entertainment", or some other category that would be more appropriate to the topic of "pro" wrestling. Why is it hating when people want to ask about the actual sport of wrestling?

The general tone from the questioners asking about other forms of wrestling is antagonistic. e.g. Why do you watch that fake wrestling crap? MMA is SO much better and realer.
This section and it's users are attacked incessantly by people belittling wrestling and wrestling fans. We are justifiably defensive. I'm sorry if you or anybody else posted a question and got bashed.
Perhaps you can petition Yahoo to create a sub-category for "amateur wrestling".

Professional Wrestling is more popular, that is why it takes up most of the questions in this section.
If you have an Amateur Wrestling question, just ask it and not bash people for watching Professional over it. Usually, there are a few cases where someone gets attacked for an Amateur Wrestling question, and most of the time it is because the person bashes Professional Wrestling instead of asking their question. There's no need to be rude.

Talk to YA about it. As far as I'm concerned, this forum should be a place to talk about ALL wrestling.
Source(s): Did you know that most of the "pro" wrestlers train as "amateur" wrestlers before they enter pro wrestling? Some, like Brock Lesnar, Verne Gagne, and Kurt Angle have won on the national and international level, so no need to bash, ok? Crap comes from both sides of the argument. - How do you think about the answers? You can sign in to vote the answer.
