Many times. People are all human. They make mistakes. They also lie, for reasons at the time they have justified to themselves, however in the course of doing so end up hurting the one they are supposed to love the most. The issue is not the breach of trust, but where you can get over it. Thus, if you can be content with the reason why this someone breached your trust, then there is no reason why you can't continue with them. Often however, the breach is something that a person cannot get past. When it comes to that point, there is really no hope and it's likely time to move on. It's very hard, but if you do not the breach will remain in your mind. It will end up destroying you over time. You can't toss away everyone that breaches your trust. You just have to be smart as to the how's and why's regarding it.

Yes, I have. And it was my own family who betrayed me. I still have not gotten over it and probably never will. And to the person who wrote "mothers never judge and you can always trust them". Not always, my mother abandoned me when I needed her the most and was the biggest betrayer of them all. Very sad. Don't know how you get over something like that.

Many times, dear, many times. It's human nature: those of us that are benevolent will be preyed upon by those who are ruthless.
