    Dominance.

This site is an excellent example.

Why do we work so long and so hard for points?

Dominance. I have to be able to say "I am better than you, and i can prove it!"

    I am smarter than you

    I am prettier than you

    I am richer than you

    I am sexier than you

    I am taller than you

I am [fill in the blank] than you

War decides everything. If everyone agreed diplomatically, there would be no need for separate countries, alliances, trading blocs, etc. War has been glorified throughout history, and rightfully so. It has determined practically all of the borders that you see on the globe today. It has led directly to the creation or destruction of countries, governments, and entire forms of government (fascism, for instance). It has also spurred human ingenuity and technology, and kept rogue states in line.

I find military history fascinating, and I want to join the military, so obviously I am going to be biased toward the necessity of warfare. But peace is unattainable, and that's not pessimism, that's human nature. Maybe some day in the distant future it will happen, but not in the past 4 millenniums, and certainly not in the decades to come.

War is a fact of life, and has been essential to practically every country's existence at one point or another.

better than the desire for romance and the desire for money is the desire for capability. international locations take over different international locations for capability. each and every so often it particularly is for aspects. interior the olden situations aspects lined the individuals who have been used as slaves. Kingdoms fought against Kingdoms for capability and aspects. 2 adult males combat and kill one yet another over a woman or money or something. Gangs combat one yet another for administration of a close-by. On an even bigger scale states combat the federal government approximately regulations. Then international places combat one yet another over each and every thing, appropriate now i think of perchance oil. it particularly is yet another dialogue. people have the ability to do stable or evil. i do no longer think that each and every person persons are stable. some are no longer from the time they have been born. some commence out stable and alter into evil from alcohol or drugs and stepping into the incorrect crowd. then you certainly've people who're in between, no longer stable adequate to be stable and not undesirable adequate to be undesirable. confident I do think of that it particularly is human nature and confident i think of that the government makes use of it. although if we took a vote and enable the individuals confirm if we are to circulate to conflict or no longer, we does no longer. we are a mixture of each and every of the above. it is the guy who has the capability that comes to a decision.

"It matters not what men think of war." ,said the judge. "War endures. As well, ask men what they think of stone. War was always here. Before man was, war waited for him. The ultimate trade, awaiting the ultimate practicioner."

This is a quote from Cormack McCarthy's book

Blood Meridian. I just used it for another Answer

when I saw your question. I think it might be as good

Survival.Back then it was a fight just to stay alive. Food resources were limited and if there was not enough to go around men would fight to ensure that they, or the biggest and strongest, got the available food to survive. If you couldn't kill, for meat, you would try to steal someone else's food. They would fight you for it.

The instinct to survive is the strongest there is and it is hard-wired into our genes to fight to stay alive.

I think it is part of our genetis make-up. A defense mechanism that triggers us to action when faced with that which causes fear.

When we are afraid, we attack....

We could be afraid of losing something, being something basic like life sustaining environment (nourishment, air, fertile soil etc...) or something higher up in the human needs pyramid: Love, power, afection, dignity....

    You name it.

I believe we all have the capability to war to defend ourselves and that which is ours

    Hey ya...

The fact remains that to realize the importance of light one should know what is darkness....

Similarly... when you fight you will learn the importance and need for PEACE and UNITY, provided you know which is best.

    Cheers!!!
