How do I solve this problem with my homepage?
My homepage shows up as a blank with the title in the address bar as "about blank." I've gone to Tools and changed the homepage back to the default in Options there, clicked Apply and Okay, but the page always changes back to "about blank" in the address bar and remains blank. I've also tried to change my homepage back by using the Add or Change Homepage function next to little house on the toolbar, but, again, with no success. I've searched everywhere I can think of for someway to change from "about blank" to the one I want. I can't find anything else about how to do it and have no more ideas where to look or what to do. Does anyone have any suggestions?
Thanks to all of you who responded. I tried almost all of the various suggestions, the method described by Ti_Cool_ was the solution. Again, thanks to everyone.
I was too quick to say the problem was solved. I've been working on it for six hours now, including running spyware and virus scans, and it's I still have the problem. It changed for one opening of the homepage when I followed the advice of TI_Cool_, but reverted to "about blank" when I reinitiated the homepage.
Anymore suggestions anyone?

we can manually set the item in the registry...
start, run, regedit
Hkey local machine, software, microsoft, internet explorer....
Set the start page link to your URL.
Are you using tabs?
Check your tab settings
we can do a system restore....
start, programs, accessories, system tools, system restore...

First try and reset all the settings of your browser to default. This should be under tools->internet options. If that doesn't fix it, scan your computer for virus/spyware. Search for "hijackthis" in google, its a great tool to remove unecessary files that gets attached to your browser. Then scan your computer in http://housecall65.trendmicro.com/ (this takes a while depending on your internet connection, but its very effective) hope this helps.

Well, what you likely have is a bad case of the About:blank hijacker. This was a huge problem like 3 years ago and there are a few manual solutions that are free to do but somewhat technical or there are software solutions that are not always free.

Have you managed to change the home page before?
Sounds to me like it might be related to a browser hijack. There is a decent program called HijackThis! Short of that you can also try a program called Ad-aware or Spybot: Search and destroy.
