The airlines do not charge different fares for children versus adults, it's the same price. For children under the age of 2 you can have them fly "lap seat" which means they do not get their own seat and have to fit on your lap for the whole trip and are free. Depending on how long a trip you are taking this could save you some money. But keep in mind that most flights are full or oversold so don't count on an empty seat next to you that you can use for your child.

Good question. Much like asking what is the price of freedom. Personally I don't believe in a perpetual state of hapiness and I only believe in the possibility of relative hapiness. But much like freedom comes at the cost of much war, blood, and men, so happiness comes through much suffering and struggling , and emotional angst. In these cases though the outcome is worth it, along with much learned along the way.
