Do you feel safe sharing the roads with large vehicles?
I drive a Dodge Ram Diesel pickup weighing in at over 6,000 lbs. It scares me knowing these death traps are allowed on the roads.

It's even scarrier for those of us that drive semis. Fourwheelers everywhere; thinking that just because a semi has more wheels and more brakes that it could stopfaster. So they cut in with only a foot or two to spare and slam on their brakes to get off on an exit they should have gotten over for like a 1/2 mile ago. 80k# semi vs 1K-2.2K# car. Wonder who would win in the race to live. Sorry semis have so many darn gears and take a heck of a lot longer to get up to speed.
They seriously need to make it harder to get a regular license. It's tooo easy. There should also be a manditory retest every so many years. Not just a vision check every time your license gets renewed.
There wouldn't be so many pissed off ready to runyou off the road truckers if there weren't hundereds upon thousands of cars that cut them off every single day. We have a job and a deadline just like you.
Think of it this way. If you wreck your little four wheeler. You might be laid up in the O.R. for a week or two. But still have the same job. If I wrecked the semi; I could screw up the rest of my life and quite possibly never get a job anywhere. Trucks aren't obstacles to be overcome. You may win in the race for first place; but if I slam in to you; I'll live longer.
Besides it would really be a pain to get car stuck inbetween a big rigs tires. Makes for a bumpier ride.

I drive mountain roads, with large vehicles on them (logging trucks, oil rigs, etc) in my smart car and it doesn't bother me in the least. My little car handles quite well, and I'm quite comfortable taking it on long road trips.
